We all carry ideas about who God is and what He should do. We think about what faithfulness ought to look like, and even what answers we *think* He should give us when we pray. We put limits on who He is. We aren’t capable of understanding His full power.

The old hymn says -
“Majesty! Worship his majesty!
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.
Majesty! Kingdom authority,
Flow from his throne, unto his own; His anthem raise!”

And God’s majesty is on full display in Psalm 8, both in its first line and the last: “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

We do what is right. We help others. We try to leave old sins behind. Those things matter—but if we are counting on them to save us, how could we ever be sure the balance is enough?

Our hope is not in how much we have done for God.

It is in what Christ has done for us.✝️
