JOIN US this Saturday, October 19th, at 1:00 p.m. when we unveil a beautiful historical marker at the Old Crystal Springs Cemetery to celebrate the bicentennial of the Crystal Springs Methodist Church and to remember where the original town of Old Crystal Springs was located as well as the site of the original church. This is an exciting day for Crystal Springs and the Church! Old Crystal Springs was named for the springs that flow at the back of the cemetery. Come see the beautiful marker and visit the gravesite of Samuel L.L. Scott who was instrumental in building the C.S. Methodist Church in "new" Crystal Springs in 1860.

The Copiah Chapter DAR is selling veteran wreaths once again! They are $17 for a live wreath with a big red velvet bow. Message me for a form or you can order online at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/MS0059P or mail me a check made out to WAA. The ceremony at the Crystal Springs City Cemetery is Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. Deadline to order online is Dec. 3rd and through me is Nov. 30th. You CAN specify a different Copiah Co. cemetery where a wreath can be placed; HOWEVER, you will need to message me after ordering online and let me know or send payment through me. Otherwise, I will have no way of knowing. Message me with any questions and thank you for your support!

Bought a copy at Allred's On The Square. Glad to finally get the story about what is actually wrapped and sitting behind the former Heritage House in Hazlehurst. I’ve asked about it before and it only stirred debate. Something needs to be done with it. Who cares if it’s only the additions to the original RJ house. Fix it and make it a cool museum to showcase his life or blues music or whatever. Just do SOMETHING with it. No sense in wasting the time and money to get it there to do nothing with it.

While working on my Copiah Co. postcard book I came across a couple of duplicates. Offering these to my fellow Copiah friends before selling on EBay. Neither of these come up for auction very often. One is a view of the First Baptist Church Hazlehurst (the original) and the other is Senator Joseph W. Bailey’s childhood home in Crystal Springs dated 1910. Each is $35. Message if interested.
