I’ve learned to accept my mother no longer being here on earth. I am so grateful for what she invested in me and my siblings. Mother’s Day for me is about being thankful for God’s amazing grace and how he favored me to be born to such an amazing woman. Happy Mother’s Day to our she-roe’s ❤️💯

Join us on Saturday March 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. as we cut the ribbon at the City of Crystal River YMCA Community Engagement Engagement Center. There will be refreshments, facilities tours, group classes, and a host of other opportunities. We are excited about the opening of this facility and the change it will bring to our community. Come out and be part of tremendous event and opportunity. ✂️🎗🤝

Our community is currently going through some big changes and developments. For years the community has been asking our city leaders to rename northeast and southeast eighth avenue to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Crystal River,FL. Finally on January 10, 2022 at 5:30pm the City Council will be voting on this issue. We need all concerned citizens who support this matter to come out and help support this change in our city. If approved the, city staff would complete the signage change-out immediately following the Jan. 17 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade and festival. This would be a wonderful opportunity and time to facilitate this change in our community. So please come out and be apart of this.

The Florida Care Insurance Group is based out of Jacksonville, FL and they are doing the enrollments this Sunday December 19th from 10am to 5pm. Florida Blue Cross & Blue Shield has identified 6400 individuals in Citrus County who earn at or below the current Federal poverty level (< 13k per year) and do not have health insurance. These are the people we are targeting this weekend to enroll. These people do use the emergency room as their primary care provider because they think they cannot afford insurance. This drives up costs for everyone. Those same 6400 individuals are eligible for free or reduced ($14.00 per month) premiums through the ACA. That is what they will find out this Sunday when the Florida Care Team processes their paperwork.

This event is not for people who have currently enrolled through their employer's insurance or trying to reduce their premiums.

The City is hosting a variety of charrettes, a collaborative planning process that harnesses the talents and energies of all interested parties to create and support a master plan that represents transformative community change, throughout the week. You are invited to participate tonight at 6pm at Crystal River High School. Our young people are invited to have input as well into the several years of growth in our community. You don't want to miss this!
