🙌 A huge thank you to Mary White, Executive Director of Nature Coast Ministries, for delivering an incredibly moving and insightful presentation to our club on May 27th!

Nature Coast Ministries does phenomenal work here in Citrus County, particularly through their vital free dental clinic, which provides essential oral healthcare to low-income individuals in our community who need it most. 🦷✨

To show our deepest gratitude and support for this life-changing mission, the Kings Bay Rotary Club was honored to present Mary with a financial contribution check on behalf of our members. "Service Above Self" is at the core of what we do, and we are incredibly proud to support local partners who make such a tangible difference right here at home.

Please join us in thanking Mary and the entire team at Nature Coast Ministries for their unwavering dedication! To learn more about their services, find out how to volunteer, or support their mission, visit their website: 🌐 https://myncm.com/

This past Wednesday (May 13th), we had an extraordinary King's Bay Rotary Club meeting. United Way Director George Schmalstig kicked off the presentation, explaining his agency's role in funding the HUD-VASH (HUD–Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) program in Citrus County. The United Way acts as the pass-through organization for funds from Rotary directed to the HUD-VASH program. Then, Iris Wilsek, the leader of the program, explained in further detail how it works. The striking thing to me is how many wrap-around services, including case management, are provided to at-risk or homeless veterans. Iris had a couple of her staff with her, including old friend and former Kings Bay Rotarian, Ed Wilsek. It was great to see Ed again!

We'd love for you to join us!

✨ Celebrating Our Future Leaders!
It was an absolute honor to spend last Wednesday evening at the Crystal River High School Awards Banquet.

There is nothing quite like seeing the hard work, dedication, and talent of our local students recognized. The energy in the room was inspiring, and it reminded us exactly why we do what we do!

🎓 Investing in Excellence
The Kings Bay Rotary Club was excited to hand over scholarship awards to four amazing students! These young individuals have shown outstanding commitment to their education and their community, and we are proud to help fuel their next chapters.

This week, we heard a dynamic presentation by DuWayne Sipper, Executive Director of the PATH of Citrus County, a social service agency with a broad, sweeping mission.

PATH of Citrus County, Florida, centers on connecting clients to work and to chemical recovery by pairing employment supports with integrated recovery services. Through job readiness coaching, resume development, local work placements, and partnerships with small businesses, PATH helps individuals transition into sustainable employment while addressing barriers such as transportation, childcare, and stigma. Simultaneously, the program coordinates evidence-based chemical recovery services—assessment, counseling, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options where appropriate, peer recovery coaching, and relapse prevention—so clients can stabilize their recovery as they pursue career goals.

Over the past few years, client demographics have shifted: the program now serves a broader age range, with more women, families, veterans, and immigrant communities seeking help; there is greater racial and linguistic diversity, and clients increasingly arrive with complex needs such as housing insecurities and children in tow. These demographic changes have prompted PATH Citrus County to adapt outreach, staffing, and wraparound supports—expanding interpreters, culturally responsive counseling, and transportation options—to sustain employment, improve recovery outcomes, and support long-term community reintegration.

We wish DuWayne the best of luck. He and his customers are indispensable in helping us during our annual Stone Crab Jam Music Festival each Fall. We were pleased to present DuWayne with a check from the Kings Bay Rotary Foundation as a part of our charitable mission.
