The Justin Schroeder Memorial Foundation was established in October 2003 to honor the memory of Justin Schroeder through scholarships and contributions to youth educational and athletic programs. Justin was an honor student at both Crystal Lake South High School and Marquette University, where he completed three semesters in Electrical Engineering. He tragically died on April 9, 2003 in Memphis, T

ennessee from injuries sustained in an auto accident as he and two friends returned from the NCAA basketball tournament in New Orleans. To honor his scholastic achievements, his zest for life, and his love of learning, Justin's parents felt it was appropriate to create scholarship awards in his name to graduates of Crystal Lake South and to McHenry County students attending Marquette University’s School of Engineering. During 2005 the foundation initiated the Justin Schroeder Memorial Fund at Marquette, and it has created an endowed scholarship to the School of Engineering. The Foundation assists dedicated students in completing their undergraduate degrees, helping them on their way to becoming successful teachers, social workers, and engineers.

Our perfect day brought us lots of smiles, lots of hugs and about $12,000 to fund our scholarship!

As most of you know we give a $10,000 scholarship to a graduating Crystal Lake South High School senior....now that "we" includes all of you. Kevin and Cathy could not do it without you!

2023 winner of the JSMF scholarship is Meg Norten...she is headed to American University in Washington DC....she will change the world...

Alex Stinson is the 2023 winner of the Justin Schroeder NHS Merit Scholarship. He grabbed our attention by building his own guitar and playing it at a school production...could there be a better fit?

Congratulations to both of these stellar young people....and thanks to their parents for the gifts you gave the world. So proud to have Justin's legacy moving on through them......ripples....
