Crystal City Elks Lodge #1721 is accepting applications for kitchen staff in our Club Room.
Kitchen Hours:
Monday–Friday | 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
• Cooking
• Cashier duties
• Stocking
• Ordering supplies
• Cleaning and general kitchen upkeep
How to Apply:
Pick up an application in the Club Room office and return it to either:
• The office, or
• Exalted Ruler Michael Wilson

As we all know, we experienced a major snowstorm this past weekend. First and foremost, I hope everyone is safe, warm, and well.
Due to the storm and circumstances beyond anyone’s control, we were required to reschedule the Dan Ash Chili Cook-Off. The event has been moved from this past Sunday to Sunday, February 8th. The time, format, and all other details will remain the same.
I fully recognize that this date falls on Super Bowl Sunday, and I understand that this may impact competitor participation and attendance. Unfortunately, due to hall availability and the logistical requirements necessary to properly host the competition, February 8th was the only viable date available at this time.
Looking ahead, and weather permitting, we fully intend to return the event to its traditional date next year on AFC–NFC Championship Sunday.
If you are unable to attend this year, please accept my sincere apologies, and thank you for your understanding. We appreciate your continued support and hope to see you at the lodge soon.

Calling all high school seniors: Applications for the 2026 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest close NEXT WEEK!

We will award 500 scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $30,000 over four years. No relation to the Elks is necessary to apply.

With this scholarship, students gain more than just financial aid—they gain an appreciation of service, a network of like-minded peers, and an for life.

The 2025 Kids Fishing Derby was a huge success. We had over 40 kids come out to enjoy a morning of fishing, food, and great prizes at the Elks lake.

9-year old Mila Smith reeled in a whopping 11 pound catfish to claim the Big Fish Prize and trophy. Second place was won by Addy Gyurics who caught a huge 6 pound catfish, and Third place went to Riley Nichols for his big 2 pound 6 ounce catch.

A big thank you to the members who came out to help with the derby, and a huge shout out to Scott White, Derrick Hux and the Festus Fishing Team for all of their help in preparing the lake area this week and for weighing and recording all of the fish caught. This event wouldn't be a success without everyone's help.

Thanks to all who came out, had fun, and supported this great youth activity. A proud day for our Lodge.
