Texas Crab Festival

Swedes Park is the home of.the Texas Crab Festival, but is also an active venue for other events throughout the year. On July 25th, the park was the site for a multi-agency training session for volunteer firefighters to learn about the unique constraints and techniques for fighting fires on the peninsula.

The Swedes Park drill brought together three neighboring peninsula fire departments to practice joint drafting and water relay operations.

We love it when our vendors are pleased with their Texas Crab Festival experiences! Some visitors come for the food. Some come for the bands.

But we can't forget our guests who travel from all over the country for the unique variety of arts, crafts and specialty vendors that you won't find all together in any other place! The Texas Crab Festival is a one-of-a-kind celebration held annually on Mother’s Day Weekend in Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula. This iconic event has been delighting locals and visitors since 1986, combining the best of Gulf Coast cuisine, music, art, and family-friendly entertainment into one unforgettable experience.

At the heart of the festival is the delicious variety of crab-inspired dishes, from crab gumbo to fried crab claws and beyond. Food lovers can savor unique flavors while enjoying live music performances by regional and national artists spanning genres like country, rock, and blues.

Proceeds from the Texas Crab Festival support local scholarships and initiatives, giving back to the community through Bolivar Peninsula Charities.

Hats off to our friend Jim King for his recent recognition from the City of Beaumont for his many years of shining the spotlight on Southeast Texas!

Mayor Roy West issued a proclamation honoring the 20-Year Anniversary of "Jim King of the TV Show" and the 15th year of "King's Country Internet Radio."

Jim has a loyal audience and regularly highlights regional culture, including celebrity interviews, concerts, businesses, and events.

You probably know that you are supporting scholarships, job training, first responders, and teacher assistance. But what does that really mean?
