With the passing of Gloria Steinem — a woman who spent more than five decades fighting for women to have a voice, a seat at the table and the opportunity to build lives and careers on their own terms. We will share more on her soon.

And just last week, Dolly Parton — a woman who gave working women an anthem and reminded us all to pour ourselves a cup of ambition.

It has been a heavy week for women. Thank you to the women who paved the way. We’ll keep going. 💜

Today, we honor the incomparable Dolly Parton—a woman who showed America that strength can be wrapped in kindness, ambition can live alongside humility, and femininity never has to be sacrificed to be taken seriously.

Dolly broke barriers in music, film and business. She gave working women an anthem with “9 to 5,” built an empire on her own terms and used her success to give millions of children the gift of literacy. Most importantly, she encouraged generations of women to believe in themselves.

She paved her own road—and made it wider for every woman coming behind her.

Her rhinestones made her sparkle, but it was her courage, generosity, humor and heart that made her shine. Her music will endure, her impact will continue, and the example she set for women everywhere will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that we can dream bigger, stand taller, give generously and remain completely, unapologetically ourselves.

We will always love you. 🦋✨

In addition to water, Eli Lilly and Company has generously donated cleaning supplies, hygiene kits, and supplying charging stations to help neighbors who are still recovering from the storm and dealing with ongoing needs.
