Lake County Master Gardeners Lake County Master Gardeners trains gardening enthusiasts as volunteers to assist Purdue Extension with home horticulture education in Indiana communities.

Purdue Extension Master Gardeners are "Helping Others Grow!" The purposes of Lake County Master Gardeners Association are exclusively charitable, educational and scientific and its principal objective is "HELPING OTHERS GROW" by promoting the art, science and pleasure of gardening in Northwest Indiana in cooperation with the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service (CES) of Lake County, Indiana.

To mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, the Garden is illuminating the pivotal role gardens have played in the American experience during America Grows: 250 Years of Garden Stories. Starting June 5 through September 27, visitors are invited to explore gardening movements tied to key moments in history and participate in artistic activities.
