You know the songs. You know the lingo. You're comfortable in the room.

But comfort in Christian culture isn't the same as trust in Christ. Even Satan knows the Bible better than you ever will — and it saved him nothing.

Jesus paid it all. Nothing added, nothing deleted. It's all about Him.

The question isn't how much you know. It's who you're trusting.

You are not the captain of your soul.

"We are living in an illusion that we control anything about our future… we got nothing together because we don't control anything."

Not one second. We may know possibilities. We may know probabilities. We know zero certainties.

"You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist" (James 4:14).

James isn't against plans. He's against plans with God left out of them. We write ours in pencil, because His are already written in pen.

The comfort was never that we know what tomorrow holds. It's that He does.

People change. Feelings fade. Relationships end. But God's love isn't like ours. It doesn't run out, run cold, or run away.
Rest today in a love that was never going anywhere.

Nobody rejects Jesus in the abstract.

"The greedy love their money, the immoral love their s*x, the ambitious guard their freedom, the powerful protect their power, and to each one of them, Jesus is a threat to what they hold most dear."

Thessalonica didn't debate theology. They rioted — because Paul said "there is another king, Jesus" (Acts 17:7). The offense was never that Jesus existed. It was that He claimed the throne.

"Friend, your god is going to disappoint you, and ultimately, you're gonna have to give it up anyway."

Every rival god has an expiration date. Only one of them walked out of the grave.

We give our best thoughts to the Cubs, the 401k, the mirror, the news cycle — and our leftover thoughts to the one thing that determines eternity.

That's not an accident. It's the enemy's oldest strategy: keep you distracted from your soul, and you'll never have to face what matters most.

Freedom starts the moment you stop managing people's opinions and start resting in the One who never turned away.

You've been in church your whole life. You know the songs, the language, the culture. You look in the mirror and see a genuine believer staring back.

But almost isn't the same as saved. And the most dangerous kind of "almost Christian" doesn't even know they're almost — they're not rebelling against the gospel, they're just resting on familiarity with it.

We are not saved because we think we're saved.

Familiarity with Christianity is not the same as faith in Christ.
