One group of teens said Shema together inside Auschwitz-Birkenau. Another rappelled down a canyon wall in Utah.
Hundreds of teens joined one of CTeen Summerโs trips, from Jewish history, to Israel, to the wilderness. Heritage Quest went through Warsaw, Lublin and Krakรณw, then was on a flight to TLV hours after. Israel Journey took teens rafting on the Jordan, up Masada before sunrise, and to the Kotel on Friday night. CTeen Xtreme put 40 boys on a bus from Denver to Los Angeles, through Arches, Canyonlands and Bryce Canyon, with Shabbat in Las Vegas.
Most of these teens are the only Jewish students in their school back home. They came back with a siddur, a few mitzvot theyโve taken on, and a sense of Jewish belonging only an immersive trip could give them.
