Our mission is to engage, educate and empower our unified schools and community to plan and implement strategies aimed at preventing youth substance use and its associated consequences through city and countywide efforts. SOUL – Our Commitments:

1. Prevention and Education: We strive to raise awareness about the risks of substance use through comprehensive educational prevention programs for youth ages 12 to 17 and their caregivers, counselors, educators and school staff. By equipping these individuals with knowledge and skills, we empower them to make informed choices that prioritize their well-being.

2. Support and Resources: We are committed to providing a network of support and resources for individuals facing the challenges of substance use. Through partnerships with local organizations, we aim to connect individuals with the resources that can be utilized to assist with their overall health and wellness.

3. Community Engagement: We believe in the strength of community bonds. By fostering open communication and active participation, we seek to build a resilient community that stands together against the pressures of substance use. Through events, workshops, town hall meetings and outreach programs, we encourage positive connections and a sense of belonging.

4. Advocacy and Policy Influence: We work to advocate for policies that address the root causes of substance use and promote effective environmental strategies for prevention and intervention. By collaborating with local authorities and policymakers, we strive to create an environment that supports the well-being of our community.

5. Youth Empowerment: Recognizing that our youth are the future, we invest in empowering them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make educated decisions regarding substance use. Through educational initiatives, social norming campaigns and wellness activities we aim to cultivate a generation of resilient and drug-free leaders.
