Leadership EXCEL has been developing leaders across Acadia and Jeff Davis Parishes for more than 30 years, and now it’s time to recognize one of those outstanding graduates.

We’re now accepting nominations for the 2026 Leadership EXCEL Alumni of the Year Award, honoring a graduate who has not only excelled professionally but has also made a meaningful impact on Acadia or Jeff Davis Parishes through leadership, service, and community involvement.

The ideal nominee is someone who embodies the values of Leadership EXCEL by using the skills and experiences gained through the program to create positive change. Whether through civic engagement, mentoring others, volunteerism, or innovative leadership, they continue to make a lasting difference in the communities they serve.

If someone comes to mind, we encourage you to submit a nomination.

Nominations close Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

The recipient will be recognized at the annual Leadership EXCEL Graduation & Awards Ceremony this December.

Strong communities are built on the stories, traditions, and experiences that connect us.

The Leadership EXCEL Class of 2026 recently spent Wednesday exploring the arts, culture, history, and tourism assets that help make Acadia and Jeff Davis Parishes unique. From Rayne's rich heritage and Crowley's history to Lake Arthur's tourism opportunities, the Gator Chateau, and Jennings Airport, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the people, places, and traditions that drive community pride and economic impact.

A huge thank you to all of our speakers, hosts, and community partners who helped make this session possible.

Today, our Leadership Excel class had the opportunity to experience Agriculture Day across Acadia and Jeff Davis Parish! 🌾🦞🥃🚜🐄

We started the morning in Acadia Parish with a tour of Acadia Crawfish before heading to Jeff Davis Parish to visit Bayou Rum Distillery, Sunshine Quality Solutions, and Grace Ranch.

From crawfish and sugarcane to agriculture equipment, cattle, dairy products, and Louisiana-made rum, today was a great reminder of how agriculture and agribusiness continue to shape and strengthen our region. Huge thanks to all of the businesses that opened their doors and shared their passion, knowledge, and love for our communities! 👏

The 2026 Leadership EXCEL class took on SIMSOC last week—an interactive simulation designed to challenge decision-making, teamwork, and adaptability in real time.

In partnership with the Vermilion Chamber Leadership Class, participants stepped into fast-moving scenarios that pushed them to think bigger and lead with purpose.
