The Croton Chorale

We are a community chorus directed by Claire Collins. We rehearse and perform at Asbury Methodist Church in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Come join us!

The Croton Chorale was founded to be a community choir for anyone who wants to sing great music. We perform three concerts annually; proceeds from the concerts go to local charities such as the Croton Caring Committee and the Cortlandt Emergency Food Bank.

Our chamber orchestra reflects the voicing and style that Handel originally intended for , rather than the grandiose modern orchestrations you may have heard. You can revel in their beautiful sound on December 14th.

George Frideric Handel composed Messiah during the summer of 1741 while living in Dublin.
was first performed at the New Music Hall in Dublin in April 1742, with 26 boys and five men from the combined choirs of St Patrick's and Christ Church cathedrals participating.
