Saturday evening, May 16th, our Plateau Corvette Club showed up in true PCC style to support the Common Grounds Coffee Shop Fundraiser — and what a wonderful small‑town event it turned out to be!

We brought out six beautiful Corvettes to put on display, joining several other vehicles from across the Crossville community to create a fun, welcoming little car show for everyone to enjoy. The smiles, the conversations, the kids pointing at the cars — it was everything we love about sharing our passion with others.

A huge thank‑you to Les & Kelly for organizing our group, parking cars, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Your teamwork and leadership helped make the evening shine!

Adding to the magic of the night, our very own Roger Shea and his band, “Run for Cover,” donated their time and talent as the evening’s entertainment. They brought the energy, the music, and the fun — and the crowd absolutely loved every minute of it. Thank you, Roger, for giving your heart to this event and lifting the whole night with your music.

We were also honored to have four of our wonderful, community‑spirited Ms. Senior Cumberland County Queens in attendance, helping with the fundraising and spreading joy everywhere they went. Their presence made the evening feel even more special.

And then came the best news of all…

From Pat Shea:
“We just received this from Sara at Common Grounds. Thanks to Les and Kelly for parking cars and all of you from PCC who came with your beautiful Corvettes and supported us! We raised $4,800 — the biggest fundraiser to date!”

What an incredible accomplishment for a small business doing big things for our community. We are so proud to support them, and we highly recommend stopping by for a visit, a cup of coffee, and a warm welcome.

Thank you to everyone who came out, showed up, and showed love. Nights like this remind us why our Corvette family is so special — it’s not just the cars… it’s the heart behind them.

Thanks to Les for the photos!!

💛 Well done, PCC. This is who we are.

HISTORIC SPRING BLOSSOM TRAIN RIDE......Oh my goodness… what an absolutely beautiful Saturday we shared together! On May 16th, our Corvette family showed up in full force — 29 members strong, cruising in 14 gorgeous Corvettes (and one faithful steel car!) — for the once‑a‑year Spring Blossom Train Ride, benefiting the Watauga Valley Railroad Museum.

We kicked off the morning at the Cumberland County Clerk’s Office — the perfect Saturday meeting spot with the whole lot to ourselves — and thanks to the Dollar General next door, we even had a convenient place to freshen up before rolling out. Then came the magic… our caravan gliding down those Tennessee roads in formation, sunshine bouncing off the hoods, people waving, smiling, and snapping pictures as we passed. It was one of those “stop and soak it in” moments that reminds you just how special this group really is.

Once we arrived in Delano, we boarded our 1946 vintage coach car for a 4.5‑hour, 50‑mile scenic journey through the breathtaking Hiwassee River Gorge. The views were unreal — sweeping river bends, forested mountainsides, historic bridges, and of course the famous Hiwassee Loop, where the train spirals and crosses over itself. With our picnic lunches, good company, and that relaxed, unhurried pace… it felt like stepping back in time in the very best way.

And as if the day wasn’t already special enough, we were honored to celebrate a beautiful milestone with two of our own — Sam and Lee, who marked their 55th wedding anniversary with us on this trip. What a joy to share such a meaningful moment with them. Their love, commitment, and kindness are an inspiration to us all, and having them celebrate this milestone surrounded by their Corvette family made the day even sweeter.

After the ride, we headed to Gondolier Pizza & Steak House in Athens, and let me tell you — they treated us like royalty. The service was warm and over‑the‑top wonderful, and every meal came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Laughter filled the room, stories were shared, and the fellowship was just… perfect.

Then, as the sun dipped low, we caravanned home together through Tennessee’s hills, curves, and hollers — the perfect ending to a day overflowing with friendship, fun, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time.

A huge, heartfelt thank‑you to Kathy, Sheryl, Marsha, Connie, and Sharon for capturing the gorgeous photos you’ll see below. And thank you to every single member who joined us — the scenery was stunning, but YOU are what made this day unforgettable. It’s the people, the laughter, the shared moments, and the love in this group that make every mile together so special.

Here’s to more adventures, more memories, and more days just like this with our Corvette family.

Dayton Strawberry Festival Car Show, Friday May 8th

On Friday May 8th, 2026 Les and Kelly Rhoades lead a caravan of fourteen colorful club corvettes an hour south of Crossville to Dayton Tennessee where we participated in the 79th annual Dayton Strawberry Festival. Red, White and Blue was the club theme for the day. I saw a lot of stars and stripes and some great 250th anniversary shirts. In 1947 the first Tennessee Strawberry Festival started as a one-day festival sponsored by the Dayton City Lion’s Club. The event cruise-in director estimated that perhaps this year more than 400 vehicles were on display. As soon as we had our club cars parked, we then went to lunch at the Monkey Town Brewery. Nearly 100 vendor booths provided lot of shopping and items to eat and drink.

MJ is Back!

Before Michael Jordan returned to the NBA with his famous “I’m back” announcement, he climbed out of this Ruby Red 1993 Corvette ZR-1. Now, that same Corvette is on display at the National Corvette Museum.

Featured in ESPN’s The Last Dance, this 40th Anniversary ZR-1 represents peak Corvette performance from the early 1990s, packing 405 horsepower from its legendary LT5 engine. But beyond the specs, this car became part of one of the most recognizable moments in sports history.

The Jordan ZR-1 is now part of our 'Pop Culture and Corvette: An American Love Affair' exhibition in the Skydome, alongside other Corvettes tied to music, movies, racing, and American culture. See it now through Spring 2027.
