Cumberland County Foster Adoptive Parent Association A group of Foster, Adoptive, Special Needs, & Kinship parents that ban together Any adult who has an interest in helping with events is also invited.

The Cumberland County Foster Care Adoptive Parent Association (FAPA) is a nonprofit volunteer organization with No Paid Employees that functions as an advocacy support group for resource parents throughout the Upper Cumberland Region. We encourage and motivate foster and adoptive parents, as well as any other interested member of the community, to work together to promote the general welfare of fo

ster children. We assist in communications between foster and adoptive parents and others concerned with the growth and development of foster children. Membership is open to all foster or adoptive parents, guardians, kinship/relative care parents, or anyone that cares for the needs of children that are not biologically their own. We also welcome parents raising children with special needs biological or otherwise. Our Values

All children and families shall be treated with dignity and respect. Resource families provide safe, nurturing environments for children. We will help provide and encourage training and education of foster and adoptive parents. All parents need and deserve support in parenting children. Foster and adoptive parents are the best advocates for the children and families we serve. Mission
To empower FAPA parents and the children in their care by providing communication, support, training, and activities. Vision
The vision of FAPA is that every foster and adoptive family in Upper Cumberland Region has a support system to call upon to strengthen family relationships, restore enthusiasm, and to create a sense of empowerment when parenting a foster or adopted child. Educational Training
FAPA provides DCS training after most monthly meetings. Foster/ Adoptive/ Relative Care Parents are welcome to attend. These trainings help foster families to understand issues their foster children may have while providing an opportunity to network with other parents. Most training provides hours needed for annual reviews. Meeting
There is a monthly meeting on the second Monday of each month at 6pm with childcare available. Meetings places change periodically but are always in Crossville. Call 931-200-5070 to verify the location. Membership
If you would like to become a member of FAPA, please complete an application for membership at one of our meetings. Active members must pay annual dues and will have the right to vote and be eligible for election as officers of the association. Active members who attend, 8 out of 12 monthly meetings a year and help with 2 fundraiser events will be able to participate in all activities. ($20 Single; $25 Per Couple)

Fundraisings
FAPA does several small and one large fundraisers a year to help fund all the activities and birthday presents for each of the children in our association. The main festival is the Rat Run on the Mountain in September. All funds raised are spent ON THE CHILDREN (foster, adoptive, and kindship) IN OUR HOMES! Sponsorship
Don’t think you are cut out to be a foster parent? Still, want to help? Sponsorships are always available for fundraisers. You can also sponsor a planned event. Contact the association president and see what events are scheduled for the year to learn more. Activities
