Our Story
The Foster and Adoptive Association (FAPA) is a nonprofit volunteer organization with No Paid Employees that functions as an advocacy support group for resource parents throughout the Upper Cumberland Region. We encourage and motivate foster and adoptive parents, as well as any other interested member of the community, to work together to promote the general welfare of foster children. We assist in communications between foster and adoptive parents and others concerned with the growth and development of foster children. Membership is open to all foster or adoptive parents, guardians, kinship/relative care parents or anyone that cares for the needs of children that are not biologically their own. Mission To empower FAPA parents and the children in their care by providing communication, support, training, and activities. Vision The vision of FAPA is that every foster and adoptive family in Upper Cumberland Region has a support system to call upon to strengthen family relationships, restore enthusiasm, and to create a sense of empowerment when parenting a foster or adopted child.
