Wild About Cats of Cumberland County WACCC is a 501c3 non-profit public charity. Neutered feral cats are placed at feeding stations that also provide shelter.

Wild About Cats of Cumberland County is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to humanely reducing the outside cat population in Cumberland County through Trap-Neuter-Return. Young kittens and friendly strays are neutered and provided medical care before being placed for adoption.

6/19/26 🐾 Little Joe Update 🐾

Our tiny fighter is still in the thick of his battle. 💛 Today the team at Copeland gave him another bath to help clear the remaining maggots, but he’s now running a fever and has been switched to a new antibiotic to get the infection under control. Over the weekend we’ll know more about whether his back left leg can be saved.

But through it all — this little boy LOVES the attention he’s getting, and the techs at Copeland have completely fallen for him. 🖤 How could they not?

🐾 Meet Little Joe 🐾
Today this tiny fighter came into our lives and our hearts. Little Joe was found trapped under a ladder for several days, unable to escape and completely helpless. When he was finally brought to us, we discovered just how much he had suffered — he was covered in maggots on his back left foot and tail, had a severely swollen foot with a deep indentation above his ankle, and weighed only 1.2 pounds.
Despite everything he has been through, Little Joe is now in caring hands at Copeland Animal Hospital, where he is receiving the urgent medical attention he so desperately needs.
This little guy has already shown incredible strength just by surviving — now we need YOUR help to give him a fighting chance at a full recovery and a happy life. 🙏

Barry went to his forever loving home in MA yesterday. His dad said "Barry arrived, he is doing phenomenal. Loves being petted, motor running strong. He is resting in the spare bedroom now with food, water and litter box. I’ll keep him there until he has had a good rest." His brother, Jack, is waiting patiently to meet him. Jack, formerly Chris, was adopted by this adopter 2 years ago. We love repeat adopters!

Sweetheart went to her forever loving home last Friday & here is an update from her new mom: Sweetheart is doing wonderful!! She warmed up to us immediately, is so snuggly and sweet, and is getting along with her brother very well. We could not have asked for a better cat! We’re so grateful for you! We named her Ruby Sweetheart. Her brother Simon has kidney disease and cancer, and she has genuinely raised his spirits and lowered his symptoms. THANK YOU SO MUCH 💕
