Crossnore Communities for Children is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing residential foster care for children in crisis from North Carolina. With three locations – one nestled on 86 acres in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain town of Crossnore, NC, the second located on 212 acres on the edge of downtown Winston-Salem, NC, and the third in the historic district of downtown Hendersonville, N

Last week, Shana Heilbron, our VP of Community Engagement, had the honor of attending the NC Chamber of Commerce Mental Health Summit, presented by Blue Cross NC!

We take mental health seriously here at Crossnore Communities for Children, and strive to learn more every day. Not only on how we can support ourselves, but how we can be there for our own teams and beyond.

We are so grateful for the connections made and will make sure the conversations keep going long after the summit!

Every child deserves a team that shows up for them. ✨

Crossnore is proud to partner with Healthy Blue NC on Healthy Blue Care Together, a new NC Medicaid plan launched in December 2025 to better support children and youth in the child welfare system. 💙

Together, we’re helping create more connected care, stronger support for families, and brighter futures for children across North Carolina.

They had some good food, plenty of entertainment, and even met a cowboy! You don't get to do that every day, that's for sure.
