Upcoming Winter Storm & Snow Removal Protocol Reminder
We are closely monitoring the winter storm forecasted for this weekend, with current projections indicating approximately 1-2 feet of snowfall between Saturday and Sunday.
In preparation, we would like to remind everyone to review the Lake Holiday Snow & Ice Removal Protocol, which is available in full on our website.
https://lakeholidaycc.org/snow-removal-procedures
We want to highlight a few key points from the protocol to help set expectations and ensure everyone’s safety:
Snow Removal Timeline
For an average storm, the protocol provides up to 18 hours after snowfall has stopped for all roads to be plowed edge to edge. Larger or more severe storms may require additional time depending on conditions, equipment limitations, and safety considerations.
Plowing Priorities
Snow removal operations follow a defined priority list focused first on access and safety:
Front Gate entrance
Hills and curves: South Lakeview, Connector Drive, West Masters
Major Intersections
Primary and secondary roadways
Residential roads
School Bus Parking Lot (during school hours)
Only after roadways are cleared do crews move on to areas such as the Office/Clubhouse, Mail stations, Trash facility, and other common-area parking lots. For this reason, the office is typically closed during significant snow events.
Safety First
Our maintenance team will work diligently and continuously, as conditions allow, to clear roads as quickly and safely as possible. We ask for your patience as crews work through the priority list and operate within safe limits for personnel and equipment.
It is imperative that you do not park your vehicles on the roadway or immediately adjacent during and after snowstorms. Plowed snow and spread gravel will impact these areas and can cause damage to vehicles.
This area is retained by the Association for the purposes of Maintenance operations, and the Association cannot be responsible for the damages to vehicles during weather events. Because of this, it is recommended that all vehicles park a minimum of 5 feet off the roadway to prevent damage during plowing.
Members are strongly encouraged to remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary and to travel only if they have a vehicle appropriate for winter conditions. Driving during severe weather in vehicles not suited for snow and ice creates unsafe conditions for both motorists and our plow operators and can significantly delay snow removal efforts.
We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and understanding as our team works through this storm. Updates will be provided as conditions warrant.
Stay safe and warm,
Lake Holiday Management
