🙏🏼 Please Keep Our Popo and Our Family in Your Prayers 🙏🏼
It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share something I never wanted to have to put into words.
Our beloved Edward Valles, affectionately known to so many of us as “Popo,” a long time outstanding member of TITRA, is actively losing his battle with cancer and will be going home on hospice.
To our Texas Independence Trail Ride family, Popo was so much more than our Port-A-Can driver. He was the father of our Trail Boss, Edward “Peewee” Valles, and he became a father figure, an uncle, a friend, and family to so many of our riders over the years. His presence, his stories, his personality, and simply knowing he was there became part of our trail ride family.
Popo has lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms, exactly the way he wanted to. And if you know Popo, you know there was no other way he would have had it. ❤️
He has built a beautiful, big family—far too large to name each and every person whose life he has touched. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and so many who may not share his blood but still call him family. That alone says so much about the man he is.
Right now, there simply aren’t enough words for the sadness in our hearts. We are trying to find comfort in knowing that Popo is surrounded by the people who love him and that he has spent his life making memories that will continue to be told, laughed about, and cherished for generations.
We ask our trail ride family to please keep Popo, Peewee, and our entire Valles family in your prayers as we walk through these difficult days together. Pray for peace, comfort, strength, and most of all, that Popo feels just how deeply he is loved.
