Attention!! HELP NEEDED with Concessions
DC FBLA's top priorities right now are Football and Volleyball concessions. FBLA members are required to sign up to work concessions shifts in order to continue being an FBLA member. All FBLA conferences and events have a cost to attend for each member, therefore, we are required to do fundraising each year. Our main source of funds comes from doing these concessions, which requires members to put forth effort and the time commitment of concessions in the Fall.
Some members have signed up for concessions, but several have not. Due to the number of games to cover, members are required to sign up for at least 4 concessions shifts. A shift includes the entirety of the game, or for VB, all the matches of the evening (if your student plays, they will be permitted to come after their game). We simply do not have enough members signed up to cover every game.
PARENTS:
I am calling upon you for help in covering these shifts if at all possible, as I know the kids are busy & have sports, work or other activities to attend as well, and I simply cannot cover all of this alone.
Please encourage your child to sign up and reach out to me as soon as possible if they have not signed up yet. If these shifts do not get covered, I will start assigning shifts to students, which I prefer not to do, because I want to respect their time and schedules as well. Announcements have been made each morning reminding members to sign up, but several still have not!
The following games still need to be covered:
-September 10th VB, 1 worker
-September 15th VB, 1 worker
-September 25th FB (homecoming), 2 workers
-October 5th Elem VB 1 worker
-October 6th VB, 1 worker
-October 13 VB, 2 workers
Please message or email Mrs. Loper if you or someone else is willing to work any number of concessions shifts for Football or Volleyball home games.
Your time and commitment to our FBLA chapter is appreciated more than you know!
Also, if there are any local organizations willing to offer & volunteer cooks for a FB game to cook burgers & brats, please message us ASAP or call the school 😁
At this time, burgers and brats will not be served at FB games.
