We believe these two buildings shouldn’t just be preserved — they should be used! Our plan turns the Cathedral into the Young at HArt Center, a community center with arts activities where the same soaring ceilings that once held Sunday hymns can combine all ages and incomes. Down the street, the old Methodist Church can become an indoor play and STEM space — somewhere kids can run around in January instead of staring at a screen, and where curiosity gets a warm, dry place to grow.
This isn't about nostalgia for its own sake. It's about not tearing down two solid, beautiful, structurally sound buildings just because it's easier than fixing them. Crookston has strategic plans which include these historic buildings, and based on your surveys we have figured out the best uses at the least cost.
So... Crookston needs you! Let's save the steeples and the towers! Let’s give this town somewhere to gather, create, and grow for another hundred years.
Crookston is at a crossroads with two historic buildings that have stood the test of time but now need our help. Preserving these spaces as community hubs could bring new life and opportunities to the town. Please consider supporting this cause by donating or sharing the post to help save these important landmarks.
