Time is running out to clear those bookshelves! We're collecting books in new or gently used condition through tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6th. Donations can be brought inside the library OR left in the donation bin outside the main entrance. Thank you!

We're just a few weeks away from our annual book sale and we are in need of your new and gently used book donations!

Thanks to all of those who generously donated books today, we collected, sorted and packed more than 50 boxes for our upcoming book sale!!! It’s a lot - but we still need more. We’ll be collecting books in gently used condition right up until our book sale begins on May 8th. Books can be deposited in the donation bin right outside the library’s main entrance. 🤗❤️📚

Our annual Book Drive is TODAY! It's a great day to open the windows and get some cleaning done, and we're hoping you start with your bookshelves!! We're collecting your gently used books at the library from 10am - 1pm. Additional details in the comments.

We're NOW ACCEPTING book donations for our Annual Book Sale scheduled for May 8-9th.

Your generous donations greatly contribute to the success of our book sale, and in turn, we are able to provide additional funding for the library's programs, events, museum passes and other activities. It's a win-win, because we ALL benefit from the library's offerings.

New and gently used books can be donated in person at the Cromwell Belden Public Library during their regular hours (max two bags/boxes per donation, please) OR you can bring them all to our Curbside Book Donation Drop-Off happening on Saturday, April 11th from 10am - 1pm (no limit for this event).

YES, we're accepting:
✅ New releases & bestsellers
✅ Popular fiction and non-fiction
✅ LARGE PRINT books (both fiction and non-fiction)
✅ Cookbooks
✅ Children's books for all ages
✅ Teen/YA books
✅ Graphic novels for all ages
✅ Classics, vintage and signed books
✅ Recent (within 5 years) health, fitness, reference books
✅ Biographies, memoirs, history, politics
✅ Coffee table books and art books
✅ Other special interest books including crafts & hobbies, sports, self-help, personal growth, new age, spiritual, religion, philosophy, etc.

Sorry, but we are not accepting:
❌ Digital Media
❌ Readers Digest
❌ Magazines
❌ Encyclopedias
❌ Textbooks
❌ Reference books more than 5 years old
❌ Books in poor condition with torn or damaged pages
❌ Books stored in damp locations like basements, sheds or garages.
❌ Puzzles and games - we prefer that you hold them until our September sale!
