Domestic Broadcasting Survey - now available and FREE !

Thanks to Anker Petersen for alerting us to the new 24th edition of his 'Domestic Broadcasting Survey' (April 2022) now available to download from the Danish Shortwave Club International website.

The 14 page DBS-24 pdf lists all domestic shortwave broadcast radio stations active in the past 12 months:

In Part 1 active stations in the range 2300-5700 kHz are listed (in fact this is the 50th edition of the 'Tropical Band Survey'! The first edition of the 'Tropical Band Survey was published in June 1973 and had 44 pages of stations listed just in the 120, 75 and 60mbs!)

In Part 2 active stations broadcasting to a domestic audience on shortwave frequencies above 5700 kHz are listed.

In Part 3 stations no longer heard and so deleted from Part 1 and Part 2 above since 2017 are listed.

(N.B. listing excludes pirate stations)

DBS 24 can be downloaded free of charge from the DSWCI website: http://www.dswci.org/

SAVE THE DATE ! Saturday, April 23, 2022 !

The QSY Society will be sending Morse Code from Mr. Morse's porch at Locust Grove - the Morse family estate - 2683 South Road - Poughkeepsie NY 12601 on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

(Exact times to be announced - We usually operate from 10 am until the middle of the afternoon)

This is a unique opportunity to actually send Morse code via amateur radio direct from the Morse estate to the world (or watch the members of the QSY Society operate their keys!)

This has been a very popular event in the past - and now - once again! It is open to the public and we encourage everyone to visit and witness this great moment! Bring your family and friends and join in the joy of sending code from his historic home.

Locust Grove is also known for its remarkable gardens and dramatic Hudson Valley panoramic views. The museum is filled with history - many Morse artifacts and a gallery of Mr. Morse's fine oil paintings and portraits.

For full details on the estate, please visit: https://www.lgny.org.
