Thanks to the support of this community we were able to purchase school supplies for 14 families in our community. School Supplies and haircuts were available for 32 students with all of your help. Thank you!

We have received several messages from people that are available to help. We are now compiling a list of people to call if a volunteer needs to cancel or we have trouble filling a schedule. If you would like to be added to the list, send us a message with your phone number and any limitations that you have. Thank you!

#1 Appointment scheduler- this person should be someone that is home a lot to mind the phone or willing to carry the phone along. They would need to be familiar with an iPhone and the iPhone calendar and camera. They would receive calls and texts from clients with appointment requests and maintain the scheduling calendar both on paper and on the IPhone calendar. Your home must have a good cell phone connection through wi-fi or cellular service.

#2 Shopper for the third Wednesday of the month- this person would need to commit to being at the pantry from 9 am to 12 pm every third Wednesday of every month. They would work with the clients in assisting them with shopping for food. There is some lifting and optional computer input.

#3 Box Carrier- we have some heavy boxes that need to be carried up several steps and placed in the client’s vehicles while they shop for food. We need people that can do this on Wednesday mornings a few times a month.

If any of the local chicken farmers have extra eggs, we could use them at the pantry for the next couple of weeks. We won’t get another delivery from the Food Bank until July 10th.

Last night was our Volunteer Thank You party. We had 40 amazing volunteers this past year. They help with truck unloading, sorting and dating inventory, shelving, restocking, food pick ups, shopping, accounting, advising, community assistance, telephone monitoring, delivery to Steepleview and assisting clients. A lot happens behind the scenes to keep the pantry running.
We would like to thank Jim at Cross Roads for the delicious food at an amazing reduced price and Vinny’s Pizzeria for their generous donation towards the gift certificates.
