Always updating with info on EPS recycling & the industry,the EPS Industry Alliance is a trade association that represents the expanded polystyrene industry which include EPS molders, fabricators, recyclers, equipment manufacturers and resin suppliers. EPS offers a high-performance yet economical support for a wide variety of items—from sensitive electronics to appliances to pharmaceuticals—to be

safely delivered to market. Manufacturers rely on EPS packaging because of its ability to prevent or minimize product damage during transit and its excellent insulation properties required for food and medical shipments. Yet EPS packaging, just like any disposable packaging, will eventually become a solid waste and have to be managed. But here’s the good news: EPS is recyclable. Although the availability of polystyrene recycling programs varies by community and can be limited, the EPS industry uses an average of 50 percent of the post consumer material collected in the manufacture of new EPS transport packaging and loose fill packaging, which has reduced requirements for raw material resources, energy consumption has diverted material from landfills

The Town of Exeter, NH, has purchased an EPS foam densifier with funding from a grant provided by the Foam Recycling Coalition! A collection bin has been installed at the Exeter Transfer Station, giving residents a convenient way to drop off EPS foam for recycling.

The cities of Beverly and Salem, MA are hosting an EPS foam recycling event on June 11 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Residents are also able to drop off EPS for recycling on the lower level of the Beverly Public Library on June 9 & 10.

Recycling just got a whole lot easier in Worthington, Ohio!

A new Recycling Convenience Center is now open, giving residents a simple way to responsibly dispose of hard-to-recycle materials. From electronics and EPS packaging to food scraps and motor oil, the new site helps turn waste into resources.

This partnership between Worthington and SWACO is another step toward building a cleaner, more sustainable Central Ohio!

The new facility is open to the public for the disposal and recycling of electronics, expanded polystyrene, car batteries, antifreeze, motor oil and food scraps.

Great news, Tacoma! EPS foam recycling is officially back at the Tacoma Recycle Center!

Residents can once again recycle clean EPS packaging materials for FREE thanks to a brand-new densifier machine now up and running at the Tacoma Recycle Center. This long-awaited service helps residents recycle and contribute to a circular economy.

A new EPS foam recycling program has officially launched in Nashville, TN. This program allows residents to recycle their EPS foam, contributing to a circular economy. EPS foam will be densified on-site using a Foam Cycle system, making it easier and more efficient to transport and recycle.

The foam drop-off is located at the East Convenience Center, open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
