CCR's Operation Secret Santa

CCR's Operation Secret Santa Helping local single-parent families have a happy Christmas :-) I was struck by her plight as well as her kind, humble demeanor. The response was overwhelming.

In December 2011, I had a chance meeting with a young, single mother who was seeking help with providing her two young children with Christmas gifts. I thought it would be nice to try to collect a few extra things for her and her children, so I asked my friends, fellow Crisfield Cat Rescue members, and fellow townspeople for help. I was expecting to collect a few things, and instead we provided th

e family with approx. $500 in gifts, collected in only two weeks. When we delivered the three huge boxes of wrapped gifts to the family, who had not been notified of any of this, the mother couldn't stop smiling, and then she started to cry. It was an amazing experience, and Crisfield Cat Rescue wants to continue doing this for as long as we can :-) Thank you for your support!!

This morning I received a last minute CCR's Operation Secret Santa request for help from the single mom of a 6 year old girl. The mom was trying to come through for her daughter, but she has unfortunately realized that it's come down to gifts or bills. For our seventh year of CCR's Operation Secret Santa, we bought gifts for a family with two little girls, as well as four disadvantaged adults in our community. Huge thanks to those who donated this year: Randy, Bonnie, Art, Robin, Linda, Cynthia (Tutti), Mika, JoJo (Joanna), Angel, Karen, Holly, and Joanne (I hope I didn't forget anyone!!) and those who supported our bake sales. We definitely couldn't do this every year without your support!! And major thanks and props to my faithful helpers, Lance, Hattie, and Rose, you guys are the best!!!

Our 7th year of CCR's Operation Secret Santa is in the books!! I delivered to our disadvantaged adults earlier this week and we just got back from delivering to our family 🎁🎄🎅🤶 Thank you so so much to everyone who donated this year!!! I will post pictures asap!!

From now until Christmas, we will have baked goods for sale in Gordon's Confectionary's donut case to benefit this year's CCR's Operation Secret Santa. Right now we have Hattie's Fresh Apple Cake for $2.00/slice, and next week I will be making brownies and cookies (remember those salted caramel sugar cookies from last year?? Mmmhmm:-) )
We also really need your donations!! We have another special year planned :-) We have one family with two little girls, and we are also making care packages for four disadvantaged adults in town. For our sixth year, we received a very generous donation in memory of Andrea Joyner, a local teen who was tragically killed in a car accident. Due to this donation, we were able to give nine children from three families a wonderful Christmas!! We provided each of our six younger children with $150 in toys and clothing. We also provided Christmas dinner groceries for two of the families, much needed toiletries and extra groceries for one of the families, and toiletries and $50 gift cards for the older children in that family.

We will be having a bake sale this Saturday at Gordon's Confectionary to benefit this year's CCR's Operation Secret Santa!! On the table so far will be Hattie's Famous Fresh Apple Cakes, Pumpkin Rolls, my brownies (this time I will have plain, peanut butter chip, and Snickers :-) ), and mini 3-layer cakes. I will also have some of my jewelry out including a couple of Christmas sets, Please spread the word and hope to see you there!! :-)

CCR's Operation Secret Santa 2016 *In Memory of Andrea Joyner* Update - What an amazing year this was for OSS!!! Thanks to your donations and Gordon's Confectionery allowing us to sell sweets generously baked and donated by Hattie Miller Figgs and Rose VanLeer, we were able to provide three families with an amazing Christmas! We provided each of our six children with $150 in toys and clothing. We also provided Christmas dinner groceries for two of the families, much needed toiletries and extra groceries for one of the families, and toiletries and $50 gift cards for the older children in that family. After all that, we still have a budget surplus of $251.93, which will be set aside for Easter or another need that may arise.

Thank you everyone for your continued support and for making our sixth year the best one yet!!!!!

CCR's Operation Secret Santa 2016 Update: We have been extremely blessed this year to receive a very generous donation in memory of Andrea Joyner. If you are not aware, Andrea was a local teenager who passed away in a tragic car accident almost two years ago that nearly took the life of her mother as well. In appreciation, we would like to dedicate this year's Operation Secret Santa to Andrea's memory, and to her life of kindness and compassion, with love to her family
