🇺🇸 June 6, 2026--A Special Afternoon of History and Honor. 🇺🇸

​The Crete Area Historical Society was absolutely delighted to welcome the Sauk Trail Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) to our Museum yesterday afternoon!

​Following a beautiful and moving Historical Marker Dedication Ceremony at Crete Cemetery honoring Revolutionary Patriot William Hewes, attendees gathered at our museum for light refreshments, fellowship, and a shared love for local history.

​It was a true privilege to host such a dedicated group and help celebrate the legacy of those who shaped our nation.

Thank you to everyone from the Sauk Trail Chapter NSDAR and our wonderful community who came out to make this special occasion so memorable!

The Crete Area Historical Society will host a presentation about the Nature Foundation of Will County this Thursday night at the Crete Township Hall on Wood St. at 6:30 - 8 PM

Crete resident Jim Flax, who is on the Board of the Nature Foundation, will explore the work of the Foundation, and how it supports The Will County Forest Preserve District, including the recent expansions in Eastern Will County.
