Ciao Bella & Happy Weekend! ๐๐๐ธ
Best way to start off a 3-day weekend? Well, besides Friday Night Lights and a 54-14 win (but thatโs another storyโฆ) ๐๐คญ
Get up early, get your glam on, grab your DD, & join a bunch of strangers to make some crafts & a small difference. I guarantee you will leave with a happy heart & new friends. โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐จ
Today, I joined the wonderful Trinity Lutheran Church for their semi-annual Community Service Day: Faith In Action. Their theme for this year is โPutting Others First,โ & that was apparent throughout the event!
I was able to participate in so many different creative activities to benefit the community, including building decorative blessing baskets, making message magnets, painting inspirational rocks, & assembling handmade cards for Veterans. ๐บ๐ธโค๏ธ
At every station I was greeted with warmth, kindness, & genuine acceptance. I walked into this event not knowing anyone (although, I did of course run into a few people I knew, as always seems to be the case! ๐คฃ), and walked out feeling so fulfilled and full!!! They fed us all too! ๐๐ฝ๏ธ๐
In pageantry we talk a great deal about stepping outside of our โcomfort zoneโ because we are called upon to do that in many situations. We often attend events where we know no one else or very few others; we push ourselves to take on challenges that are difficult or beyond our current skill set; and unfortunately, we sometimes feel the weight of imposter syndrome rear its ugly head.
So my challenge to you this week is this: if it is outside of your comfort zone to do so, go somewhere alone. See who you meet when you donโt have anyone by your side to talk to. It forces you to open yourself up to others you may never have spoken to otherwise! (Today I met a woman named Lennora & another woman named Rudina) ๐ณ๐ฑ๐คฏ Had I not been by myself, I might never have struck up those conversations & met women with almost my identical names...
Sending light & love to you all!
A Presto! ๐๐ฅฐ
