They are not all pictured here, but I’d like to thank ALL of our community who have helped us stay safe and running while I have been away. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for the love you show to our residents and mission each and every day. 🙏🙏🙏

Our favorite way to end a volunteer sesh??
Animal time!!!
Last week we had an AMAZING Friday crew out and when we were done, they helped introduce the Gigi’s to an old milking stand. While there will be NO milking done here at the sanctuary, we’ve heard these stands can be a great way to safely and calmly trim hooves.

How’d we make the stand a positive experience??

Way to go Georgie!!!!!🤩🦃🎉💥🙌🏽
Just a few short months ago Georgie was scared and isolated . His health was uncertain and we didn’t even know if we could safely keep him among our flocks..
After specialized vet care, patience and TONS of love 🫶🏽, Georgie is coming out of his shell and his transformation has been an honor to watch!!

This beautiful guy is starting to walk and explore among his flocks , will approach the fence for treats from his caretakers and is beginning to lead the life he has always deserved.
We still have some way to go, and we do think he may need a turkey friend to make life complete, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that sanctuary has saved this sweet soul.

Big congrats to one of our favorite volunteers, !!!!
We had an amazing time showing Kezia & Alec’s families around the farm on Thursday and loved watching all the connections with the animals!!!
We had a special request for some one on one Tony time so of course, he made that happen(he’s all about the one on one🧡)
Now Tony wants to go live with them and get married too.. he’s all in love. 🥰

🐐🐐🐐🐐No matter what goodies are in the pasture, what time of day it is, or WhATEVER they may have been doing, the Gigi’s will always follow the humans. These girls LOVE being around people and if the humans show up, they will come around… and then follow them as if to say, “wait!! Why are you leaving us???”
💔Despite the fact that at some point in time, humans gave up on these girls and left them behind to fend for themselves, they STILL have chosen to trust and show love…
💙We are so grateful they found sanctuary with and they have continued their journey with us..
We joke that the “goat girls” or the Gigi’s, as we call them, would choose to be house goats if they had the chance and that joke is not very far from the truth. 😉 We’re glad they’ll settle for being in our barns and pastures…💙🐐💙🐐💙🐐💙🐐💙

It’s time for the piggies to up their wallow usage- summer is HERE!!! ☀️
There’s a common misconception that pigs are “dirty” animals and there’s nothing further from the truth!

Pigs use mud to keep cool which is why they use a wallow. So not only are they cool 💦, they’re SMAarT!!😎😎😎
