Getting backpacks ready for P&P. 20 filled with hygiene supplies for our homeless Parole/Reentry Population, and 16 extra backpacks and maxi pads to keep on hand and distribute as needed.

Sorry guys, I'm resharing as a post this time. The ticket number drawn for our 50/50 raffle was 1039, Michelle Thieneman. She generously donated her winnings to Officer Whitcomb’s family.

Welcome to our new year. I have some big shoes to fill. I want to thank Tabitha Nichter for a great year We appreciate all of your time and effort. My name is Michelle Thieneman, and I want to introduce myself to those of you who do not know me personally. I started in corrections in 1999 at KCIW for a very short stent. (I thought I was applying for the Shelby County Detention Center). I soon transitioned to the Detention Center. I worked there as a correctional officer for two years and then went to work for the Administrative Office of The Courts as a Pre-Trial officer for three years. I came back to corrections in 2015. I was voted as the first to leave by staff and inmates. I am proud to say 11 years later I am the last person in my academy still here.

I enjoy working with the diverse group of individuals who come through our front door. Though we have some challenging days, I would not trade them. I loved putting out fires and solving issues in the dorms. I have worked almost very post at Luther Luckett and currently I am the Chaplains Assistant and back up librarian. I believe we have a great opportunity to teach positive traits and problem-solving skills to our inmate population.

I look forward to a great year with many opportunities to make a positive impact on our community. We are working with the Oldham County Detention Center to have a Trunk or treat on October 31, 2026, from 5-7 p.m... If you cannot be there, please consider donating candy.
