🧐 Have you ever noticed the “notch” on the Jefferson-Oldham County border?🧐 About 150 years ago, that “notch” in Prospect didn’t exist. In 1873, Phillip R. Taylor petitioned the Kentucky General Assembly to have his home & farm in Prospect transferred from Jefferson County to Oldham County. That motion was approved and signed into law, thus creating the Notch, as it would come to be known.

🤔 Have you ever wondered how Pewee Valley got its name? One story describes the Eastern Wood-Pewee, a mystical bird celebrating the Biblical dawn of creation with it’s song, “Pe-wee, Pe-wee,” but disappeared when Adam & Eve tasted the forbidden fruit. The bird reappeared when resident, Noble Butler arrived in paradise, Pewee Valley!
