June is PTSD Awareness Month.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affects about 1 in 20 adults in the United States and can impact individuals of all ages and backgrounds. While PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, healing is possible with the right support.

At Healing Hoof Steps, we are proud to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing PTSD. Through the healing bond between humans and horses, our program helps participants build trust, confidence, emotional regulation skills, and meaningful connections on their journey toward healing.

This month, we stand with those affected by PTSD and encourage open conversations that reduce stigma and promote understanding.

Here, we can raise awareness and support healing… one hoof step at a time 🐎💚

Healing Hoof Steps is looking to add an Equine Specialist to our clinical mental health counseling team. There’s no riding during any mental health sessions. All activities are ground based with the herd. Equine specialists work in tandem with licensed mental health counselors during any equine interactions.

Open Interview Event: Friday, June 5th 1:30p-3pm at Healing Hoof Steps

⭐️Ideal candidate qualifications:
✅ minimum 5 years of horse experience
✅Team oriented
✅Must be minimum of 18yrs old
✅available 15-20 hours per week
✅available to work on Saturdays
✅Positive attitude
✅Willingness to learn
✅Reliable transportation
✅Mental health field or study experience is a plus but not required

👉🏼 Student Intern Sessions Available!

Healing Hoof Steps is excited to announce limited openings for our Master’s Level Student Intern, Lindsie.

Lindsie has served as an Equine Specialist with us since 2022 and has been progressing in her Master’s degree in Social Work.

Lindsie utilizes person-centered, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based psychotherapeutic approaches. She has experience in experiential therapies such as equine-assisted psychotherapy for all ages and play therapy for children and adolescents. Lindsie is committed to active listening and engaging with, supporting, and advocating for clients’ needs in a safe, nonjudgemental environment.

Sessions with Lindsie are $35 with limited availability until December! Please feel free to call or text our office at 850-764-1005 to set up an appointment!
