🍂🦁 A Great Day in the Crestview Community! 🦁🍂

The Crestview and Baker Lions Club had a great time setting up our booth at the Fall B**r & Garden Market, hosted by the Crestview Market at Eagles Landing at Blackwater Golf Course!

We enjoyed meeting so many members of our community, sharing what the Lions are all about, and talking about the many ways we work to serve Crestview and the surrounding area. 💙💛

We also officially kicked off our NEW GUN RAFFLE! 🎟️ Every donation raised through our fundraisers goes right back into supporting service projects and people in need throughout our community.

🌱 Growing More Than Just a Garden! 🦁💚

Yesterday was another great day with the Crestview Garden Club - Crestview, Florida at Higher Ground Community Garden, Crestview, where community partners came together to help bring a new project to life — a worm farm! 🪱🌿

The students from EverRoot Academy had developed the idea for a worm farm as part of their work in the garden. With the help of Lion Sarah Stone and several generous community partners, they were able to turn that idea into a reality. The worm farm will help create nutrient rich compost that can be put right back into the garden. A great hands on lesson in sustainability and caring for our environment.

This project was truly a community effort! We want to recognize and thank:

Bangin’ Bowls for compost and materials • Breakfast Jawn for saving eggshells and egg cartons • Oliver Feed & Nursery for providing horse manure • Publix North Crestview for saving cardboard • Dean and the Garden Club for providing plants • and everyone who donated their time, knowledge, supplies, and hard work to make it happen.

This is what the Crestview Community Garden is all about! Learning, serving, working together, and giving people of all ages an opportunity to grow. 🌱

The Crestview Lions Club is proud to be part of a community where so many organizations and individuals are willing to work together and invest in the next generation.

👓🦁 Lions Learning to Serve! 🦁👓

This past Saturday, members of the Crestview Lions Club and Baker Lions Club came together for a joint training on our KidSight early vision screening camera!

We had a great time learning together and training more of our Lions to provide vision screenings for children throughout our community.

A special thank you to our instructors, Lion Edward Mitchell, Jr. and Lion Judi Seltzer, for sharing their knowledge and helping prepare more of our members to serve! We also want to thank everyone who came out and took the time to participate in the training.

👁️ What is KidSight?

KidSight is a Lions program that allows us to screen children at schools and community events for potential vision problems. These quick screenings can help identify children who may need a comprehensive eye exam and glasses.

Good vision can make a tremendous difference in a child’s ability to read, learn, focus, and succeed in school. By training more Lions to conduct screenings, we’re working toward an important goal: making sure no child in our community goes without the vision care they need. ❤️

We’re proud to see the Crestview and Baker Lions working together to expand this important service throughout our area.
