ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – Organismal Biology and/or Marine Sciences
Thomas More University, located in Crestview Hills, KY, in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area, is a small, private liberal arts university offering undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Department of Biological Sciences invites applicants to apply for a full-time, renewable, assistant professorship beginning August 2026. A Ph.D. from a regionally accredited university is required. This is a non-tenure track position with the possibility of elevation to tenure track in the future. The position requires broad training in the field(s) of organismal and/or ecological biology, including the expertise to teach upper-level undergraduate courses such as Animal Behavior, Marine Biology, and Invertebrate/Vertebrate Zoology. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to teach various lower-level courses for majors and non-majors. The position will support our marine biology program through partnerships with the Newport Aquarium and the WAVE Foundation (Newport, KY).

Successful candidates must provide evidence of quality teaching experience. In addition to teaching, the position will require academic advising for departmental majors, service on university committees, continuing scholarly engagement, and collaborative research with undergraduate students. As a vibrant contributor to the university, the Department of Biological Sciences includes approximately 130 undergraduate students majoring within the department and also the internationally recognized Ohio River Biology Field Station.

All applications received by February 13, 2026, will receive full consideration. Interviews will begin as soon as qualified candidates are identified.

TMU Biology alum, Dr. Andrew Merrill, promoting the importance of flu vaccines! And also vaccinating the beloved FC Cincinnati mascot, Gary.

As flu activity remains low in the community, local doctors are emphasizing the importance of getting vaccinated before the flu season peaks.

Noah Francis (TMU Biology ‘26) and Dr. Galbraith-Kent co-presented on “Careers in Biology” as part of St Henry District High School’s (SHDHS) Career Day. We really appreciated the opportunity and it was great seeing a lot of familiar faces, including SHDHS Counselor Mr. Billy Sarge, Biology teacher Mr. Ron Otte (who is also a Thomas More alumnus), and many others! We value NCC, Mrs. Beth Sketch, and all of the wonderful science teachers we collaborate with in the region! Making connections and building community with our students — even before they enroll in Biology at Thomas More — is really important to our faculty and ultimately contributes to the success of our graduates!

Thank you to our guest speaker from Biological Sciences…Chairperson Shannon Galbraith-Kent, PH.D. who spoke with all of our Junior Biology Classes today!
