Did you know Shumei's HIKARI Taiko is performing at the 6th Annual Dark Sky celebration on Saturday, August 8th in Crestone?

HIKARI Taiko will open the festival at 2pm on 8/8/26 at Colorado College.

Our staff is enjoying the new art in the Gallery. It’s lovely to take a moment during the workday to soak up some beauty.

NEXT weekend, July 19th, join us at SII for the next Art Symposium with Leigha Nicole. This time we’ll start in the food service at 3 pm for a demo and then move to the gallery for a reception.

Leigha’s show, entitled Seasonal Splendor: Brush Painting through the Seasons, is a collection of Leigha’s work, which is a blend of traditional Chinese Brush Painting and Japanese Sumi-e.

We hope to see you there!

Did you miss your chance to sign up for tea this weekend at Shumei? Here's another chance! We had a couple of spots open up for our July 11th Tea Ceremony. Call the office at 719-256-5284 or email [email protected] to reserve your space.
We have space at 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Let us know what time you want and if you want sweets with your tea.

Macha only is $4
Macha with Japanese sweets is $10
The location will be the office gallery.

Save the Date!

Leigha Nicole will be exhibiting her work at the Shumei Gallery in Crestone from July through September. A symposium featuring Leigha will be held on Sunday, July 19th, starting at 3 pm. The event will begin in Shumei’s Food Service building with a demonstration, then move into the gallery, where a reception will follow.
