FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) is the only Career and Technical Organization with family as its central focus. FCCLA prepares youth for the many roles of men and women in today's society, and helps them to be better leaders in their families, careers, and communities through a variety of competitive events, programs, projects, youth gatherings, and more! FCCLA is formerly

known as FHA (Future Homemakers of America) and FHA HERO (Home Economics and Related Occupations). The name change happened in 1999. We have the same basic standards, just a new and improved name.

Yesterday we ended State Conference with a bang! Kayley finished her term as a 2013-2014 Ohio FCCLA state officer, and Blake was inducted to serve as a state officer this upcoming year. However, to top it all off, and pictured here, the duo qualified for national competition this July in San Antonio, TX! Blake will be seeking big opportunities and has other responsibilities while at nationals, and will be unable to compete, but Kayley is ready to present their project on her own and blow the judges away! They received a 99 out of 100, and their project showcases extensively everything our chapter has done this school year.

Good luck to them!!! We also had our first showing of Murder for Dummies, a murder mystery production, this evening. It went well, and you still have a chance to see it! We will be having a matinee tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. Adults are $6 and students are $4.

Yes, that is our very own Hunter Music DJ'ing the Celebration of Leadership at the Ohio FCCLA State Conference! Judging by all of the dancing I'd say he's doing a pretty good job!

Some of your members are down at State Leadership Conference setting up! Gotta say, we are the only chapter that do this, and we are very appreciated by everyone here! :) Four of us worked hard today setting up. Conference starts tomorrow!!!

Here is Claudia and Brea under our balloon arch we constructed! (Hunter and Blake were putting away the ladder and taking the picture.)

We have a big update, but I will try and keep it short and sweet!

First of all, on Saturday we made 213 (yes, 213) Stromboli and have plenty of extras to sell. If you or anyone you know is interested, please just let us know!

Also, we will soon be putting on a murder mystery production! We have already been working VERY hard to prepare for this event. There will be two showings. The first on Sat. April 26th at 7pm (Adults= $8, Students= $6) and the second on Sun. April 27th at 2pm (Adults= $6, Students= $4). Tickets are available already, but day of tickets will also be available.

Lastly, we have a big announcement. Your very own Crestline High School FCCLA was chosen as the NATIONAL FCCLA Leadership Service in Action 1st place winner for our community service, specifically with the Crestline Backpack Program! We will be receiving a special plaque and $1,000 on stage at the National Leadership Conference in July!

If you would like Stromboli or play tickets, you can comment here, or contact our awesome adviser Mrs. Bruce at the school at 419-683-5350 ext. 45602. All of our fundraising efforts are due to the fact that we could have up to FOUR national competitors this summer. We compete at State Competition next week. Stay tuned for those results to see who advances to Nationals!!!

(Also, something very cool: our very own Hunter Music is going to be the DJ at the Ohio FCCLA State Conference, on two different occasions while we are there!)

Thank you for all of your continued support. We appreciate you all!!!

PS: Apparently for over a month our updates have not been showing up to you! The problem is now fixed.

Guess what?! We're selling (*pause for dramatic effect...*) Stromboli! We were only going to sell it in November, but with four competitors advancing to State, and all of them having a chance of advancing to Nationals, we decided to be proactive and start raising funds now! If you would like to order one (or many!) just let us know here and we will get them to you. We are making them next Saturday, and they are $15/piece. If you need anymore information, just comment below! Have a great day!

Pictured here are our five competitors. Hunter Music previously competed in an online event, which we do not know the result of, yet. However, all four competitors that competed today onsite, Brea Quail, Kayley Makeever, Blake Miller, and Claudia Koan advanced to State Competition in April!!! (At State, we will be competing for a chance to advance to National Competition in San Antonio, TX!!!)
