The Rotary Club of Crestline-Lake Gregory was chartered on March 1, 1968. We currently meet at 12:00 pm at the San Moritz Lodge at Lake Gregory.

Last Saturday, Aug. 8, members of the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club participated in not one but two acts of service. Jeri-Lynn Miller, Nicole Cooper and her daughter Kadence helped out at the Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council's shredding event at Rim High. And President Mary-Justine Lanyon, Stanley Oswalt and Linda Oswalt filled backpacks with school supplies in partnership with the Crestline Lions Club.

Thanksgiving may be more than three months away but the planning has already started. To raise the funds necessary to put on this free community dinner, we have a couple of events coming up: a Bingo night followed by a community BBQ. Many thanks to Virginia Paleno, Chef Fred Keville, the Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club and the Lake Gregory Co. for partnering with us! Want more information? Send an email to [email protected].

Mark this date on your calendars: Sunday, Sept. 27. In partnership with the Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club, we are putting on a BBQ! Come enjoy a burger or pulled pork sandwich, yummy sides, fabulous desserts and music from some of our talented local musicians. All this to raise funds for the free community Thanksgiving dinner our Rotary Club sponsors each year. Can't make it to the BBQ? Scan the QR code to make a donation to the dinner (just mark "Thanksgiving" in the purpose box).

The August issue of Rotary magazine just arrived and I am inspired by President Yinka's message. It reads in part: "The more we talk about peace as a practice rather than a destination, the more naturally it will shape everything we do. This is not about doing different work. It is about doing our work differently, with greater awareness, greater purpose and a clearer vision of the world we are trying to build. Every Rotary project carries potential. Our task is to unlock it, not by chance but by choice."

Exciting news! We are partnering with the Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club to present Burgers 'n Bingo on Sept. 19. The proceeds will go toward the free community Thanksgiving dinner our club sponsors each year. Come on out, have some fun and help support this great service project.

We gathered tonight to celebrate Jeri-Lynn Miller's year as president of our club. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, Aug. 5 when we will be putting together packets of school supplies for the Aug. 8 backpack giveaway, which we do in partnership with the Lions Club. Want to come and help? Join us at 5:30 p.m. at the Crestline chamber office.

As part of the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club's commitment to do an act of service every month, President Mary-Justine Lanyon (left) and Immediate Past President Jeri-Lynn Miller volunteered at today's Jamboree Days in Crestline. They were helped by Jeri-Lynn's granddaughter Kadence.

District 5330 was well represented at the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei. We gathered at the Grand Hotel (and grand it was!) on Tuesday, June 16 for a fabulous Chinese buffet. It was great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. On to Barcelona!

Many thanks to the organizations that honored one of their own at our 24th annual Mountain Communities Awards Banquet last night. The room was packed, emotions ran high - all in all, it was a fabulous event! We remembered our long-time member, Mick Hill, who died when his small plane crashed last Saturday. His loss leaves a huge hole in our community.
