Gunnison-Crested Butte Fat Bikers Fat Bikes have blown up in the past several year. Although the local fat bike community is still small, its growing. Be safe, have fun, and stay fat!

With this grown we are looking for groomed trails in and around the Crested Butte area to fuel our passion of this sport. Crested Butte Fat Bikers will be respectful of all public trails and stay off all private nordic trails. We will also be considerate of all skiers, snowshoers, and snowmobilers. In any situation, stay towards the right of the trail/road. If you think your making too big of a di

vot in the snow, or if the snow is too soft, turn around and try again another day. Usually the best time to ride on packed trails are in the morning after the cold night solidifies the snow.

Snowshoed up Jacks this evening. Warm, very windy. Good bit of tracks, snow is packing in quite nicely! More snow coming, but if you aren’t skiing pow, consider snowshoeing or skiing in your favorite trail. Every bit we pack will ride better later.

Fat Bike Track is back in Crested Butte - Gothic Road groomed for fatty track last night!

We're BACK! We received enough snow and Gothic Road is groomed. The sled and the groomer were purring like kittens and Winter Track is back! Remember to respect all users, clean up after the dog, and keep the 2 track 2 track. We saw good compaction and it should have set real nice overnight, but remember... if you are leaving a deep rut, you probably shouldn't be there. Stay tuned for more winter trail grooming. Camp 4 Coffee Al is chomping at the bit to get going on Cement Creek.

Just a heads up that the fat bike access at the Van Tuyl Ranch, down here in Gunnison, is CLOSED! for the season. Huge Thanks to the City of Gunnison and the groomers for this very cool amenity right here in town!
Again Van Tuyl Fat Bike Access is closed for the season!
Time to dust off the road bike or head to the desert.
