Photographers, thank you for sharing your incredible images with us for the 2026 Crested Butte Wildflower Festival Photo Contest. This year, we received over 350 photographs, each capturing the beauty of our wildflower season in unique and inspiring ways. After two rounds of thoughtful voting, we are excited to announce the winners:

🐞Did You Know? One ladybug can eat up to 5,000 insects in its lifetime!

While ladybugs are not considered primary pollinators, they support pollination by consuming harmful insects that can damage plants. Consuming 5,000 insects over 2- 3 years is a big help for a little body! 🤯

Next time you see a ladybug, be sure to say hello and thank them for their role in protecting wildflowers! 💕

What an incredibly inspirational night! 😍

We were honored to attend the Community Foundation Gunnison Valley's 2026 Here for Good Celebration as a recipient of a CFGV Community Grant! 🎉

This evening was all about celebrating the life-changing impact of the nonprofit sector and other community-building nonprofits in the Gunnison Valley that make it a strong, connected, resilient, and fun place to live. 💗

Check out this huge group photo of just some of the amazing individuals who have contributed to the more than 3,000 years of impact in our Valley. 🤯

Want better wildflower photos? Get closer... but not with your feet. 👇🏼

Some of the most extraordinary photographs in the Colorado mountains aren't sweeping landscapes... They're tiny details🔎

💧A drop of morning dew
🌻The curl of a petal
🌿Sunlight hitting the edge of a leaf

The trick? Slow down.

📸 Use your zoom instead of stepping into vegetation
☀️ Try early morning or evening for softer light
🌼 Photograph flowers at their level, or from the perspective of pollinators
👀 Look for details most people walk right past

How about an extra round of applause for this crew, our 2026 CBWF staff! It is easy to forget sometimes that a Festival as wonderful and jam-packed as the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival has a staff of only five people, only two of whom are year-round (but neither is full-time). That is truly something!⁠

A wildflower meadow is never just a pretty view 👇🏾

Look across this landscape, and you're seeing thousands of relationships unfolding at once:
