Today's Gospel celebrates the female disciples of Jesus, Mary Magdalen, Joanna, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.

It is a wonderful reminder that Jesus' teachings often overturned social conventions, while women have traditionally been the traditional financial pillars of our Church.

One of our classroom grant winners, Ms. Ellen Murphy- Preschool teacher at St. Matthew Parish School, has been very busy this summer! As promised, she worked diligently to complete her project before the new school year. She revitalized the pre-k learning and play centers in her school and we think they turned out beautifully! Let's give her a hand for all of her hard work and continued dedication to students within the Diocese of Joliet schools.

The Catholic Education Foundation is proud to welcome one of our very own to the Catholic School family! Lawson, son of Emily, our Manager of Annual Giving and Events will be starting Pre-K at Holy Family School, Shorewood in a few weeks. We are so excited to welcome you Lawson!

Today is National Teacher Day and we truly are blessed with the best teachers! This past weekend we celebrated these passionate teachers who were awarded classroom grants through the Women's Giving Circle A Fund of the Catholic Education Foundation. We thank you all for everything you do for the students and families you serve.

The classroom grant application process for 2022 is now complete! Votes have been cast and tallied. Applicants will be receiving information shortly as to which proposals are being funded. Thank you to all educators who took the time to submit a grant request this year to better their students' experiences.
