Happiest birthday to our very own Jill Toth 🎉🎂

If you’ve ever wondered how Hive to Harvest keeps moving, growing, and showing up for this community… it’s because of incredible people like Jill—our official (and very accurate) Chaos Coordinator 💛

Jill, you keep this whole machine running with grace, faith, and a steady hand. You’re always there to listen, to pray, to encourage, and to remind us where the glory belongs ☝🏻

But more than that—you’ve become such a genuine, steady friend to so many of us here at H2H. And that means everything.

Everyone please help us shower Jill with birthday love today!! 🎈🥳🎉
We adore you more than words can say 💛

🌱 TODAY IS THE LAST DAY! 🌱

Spring will be here before we know it, and local kids have the chance to receive a FREE tree to plant and grow with!

Through the Neighborhood Forest program, children can receive their own tree to nurture and learn about the importance of caring for our environment. 🌎🌳

Imagine the excitement of planting a tree together and watching it grow year after year!

📅 Register today:
https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/registration-services/?school=84430

🌼 Trees will arrive at Hive to Harvest at BARC just before Earth Day (April 22) and families will receive pickup details once they arrive.

Let’s get more kids outside, planting trees, and caring for the beautiful world God gave us. 🌿

One of the most common questions we hear about Hive to Harvest is this:

Do we sell food at Hive to Harvest?
No. Absolutely not.

Hive to Harvest operates a free community pantry, and anyone who walks through our doors receives food. No one is turned away, and no donation or participation is ever required to receive support.

So how do we keep our pantry stocked with fresh, high-quality food each week?

Through our Pantry Plus Sponsorship Program.

Our Pantry Plus Sponsors are a generous group of community members who step forward to help fund the sourcing, rescue, and transportation of the food that fills our free pantry each week. Their donations allow us to bring in fresh produce, dairy alternatives, and other nutritious foods that might otherwise go to waste.

But their role doesn’t stop there.
Our sponsors also serve as Hive to Harvest ambassadors. Each week they get creative with the same fresh ingredients we source for the pantry — preparing nutritious meals and sharing recipes with the H2H community.

This does two powerful things:
🥕 It helps families learn new ways to cook with the fresh ingredients they receive.
❤️ It reduces the stigma often associated with receiving food pantry items by showing that this is simply good food being shared with neighbors.

Last year, about 40 local families participated as sponsors on rotation, stepping up as they are able to support the pantry and the neighbors we serve.

This community-powered model allows Hive to Harvest to remain self-funded, sustainable, and fully aligned with our nonprofit mission to provide food and support to our neighbors in need.

Because of them, everyone who walks through our doors can leave with nourishing food.

We are incredibly grateful for the sponsors, volunteers, and community members who make this mission possible.

Food for Today. Skills for Tomorrow. 🌱

2. Purchase a tree to plant this spring, if you don’t have a child (Buy One, Fund One!)
3. Help fund trees in our community! — $5 helps place a tree in the hands of a child

We’ll contact you when your tree is ready for pick-up at the Barrett Administrative and Recreation Complex (BARC)!

We are so incredibly grateful to Barley Creek Brewing Company for choosing Hive to Harvest as the recipient of their Brew Good, Do Good campaign this December!

Because of their generosity — and the support of everyone who participated — $814 was raised to help feed families in our community. That means more fresh food, more dignity, and more hope reaching our neighbors who need it most.

Thank you to the Barley Creek team for believing in our mission and for finding creative, community-centered ways to give back. And thank you to everyone who showed up, sipped with purpose, and made this impact possible.

We’re deeply thankful for partnerships like this — they remind us what’s possible when local businesses and community come together.

Brew Good, Do Good 🍻💛
Thanks to your support, we donated $814 in December to Hive to Harvest! Join us in January as we raise a glass for PA ProStart supporting the next generation of culinary and hospitality leaders. Cheers to making an impact together!

Friends & neighbors 💛

Hive to Harvest is walking through a season that requires a little extra faith, patience, and community support. While we work through an unexpected legal challenge, our mission remains the same—feeding our neighbors and building skills that lead to long-term stability.

A kind supporter created a short-term relief fundraiser to help us cover these legal expenses so we can stay focused on serving and growing rather than pausing or pulling back.

If you’re able to donate, thank you.
If not, sharing this post or praying for clarity, resolution, and peace is just as meaningful to us. 🙏

We truly believe that when a community comes together with good intentions, good things follow. Thank you for believing in this work and walking alongside Hive to Harvest.

With gratitude,
Krista 💛
