The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame™ is honored to officially announce, Driftrunners Snowmobile Club from Cresco, Iowa as a 2026 International Snowmobile Club of the Year – sponsored by Woody's Traction, American Council of Snowmobile Associations, Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO), & International Snowmobile Council.
The Driftrunners Snowmobile Club of Cresco, Iowa was founded in 1969. They average 124 members annually, the highest club membership in the state of Iowa. The Driftrunners maintain 200 miles of trails located in Howard, Winneshiek and Chickasaw counties, covering a variety of trail terrain from road ditches to private landowner farm fields and along fence lines. The groomer operators work hard to claim some of the best signed and groomed trails in the state, typically 800 to 900 miles per season. Each year the club’s two biggest fundraisers are their Snowfest event in January and their Chili Feed in February. They also host several smaller fundraisers such as a Vintage Sled Show, Poker Run, Torchlight Parade and Snowball Dance. Each year, the club donates to the Spina Bifida Association of Iowa, the Howard County Cancer Association and the Community Action Corporation for toys for kids at Christmas. They also partner with the local American Legion to host bingo at the Snowfest. More volunteer time and donations are provided to other local and state organizations. The Driftrunners are always promoting a positive image of snowmobiling by having multiple events annually to attract both snowmobilers and non-snowmobilers. This club’s outstanding dedication to their community is what makes them the choice for the 2026 International Snowmobile Club of the Year.

🏆 HUGE NEWS 🏆

Last night at the International Snowmobile Congress awards banquet in Omaha, we took home the American Council of Snowmobile Associations 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿! 🏆

Accepting this award for our club were board members: Steven + Alyssa Burke, Brandon Plaht, and Jr. Board Member Karson Blaess.

And it doesn’t stop there… we also got informed that our club is heading into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame this September!!!

This one’s for every member, volunteer, landowner, and rider who’s poured their heart into Driftrunners over the last 57 years. 57 years of dedication, trail work, late nights, and passion for this sport we all live for.

We would not be the club we are today without all the volunteer support and landowners in our great trail system. Thank you for supporting the sport of snowmobiling.

Thanks to all of the snowmobile volunteers, clubs, land owners and land managers for the incredible snowmobile trail system that exists!

We are proud to be able to give back to charitable organizations that help make a difference in the lives for our community and our sport. At our Landowners Appreciation Meal a week ago we were able to give $1,500 to HoCA Howard Cancer Association!!!

We want to thank the community members and area businesses that supported our Charlie's SxS Ride we hosted back in February with the 50/50 card drawings that went to this donation. Without the support, this would not be possible, so THANK YOU to all who help make the Driftrunners Snowmobile Club what it is today!

The Driftrunners Snowmobile Club is excited to announce 2 scholarship opportunities below for Driftrunners Members, Landowners, and Iowa State Snowmobile Association (ISSA) Members. The Driftrunners Snowmobile Club will be offering a scholarship to a 2026 high school graduating senior student attending a post-secondary program. Requirements are that the student or students family to be a member of the Driftrunners Snowmobile Club. A student is also eligible if the family owns ground in which the Driftrunners snowmobile trail passes through.
