Durill H. Rahe American Legion Post 200 He entered the service on 20 Sept 1917; received his military training at Camp Travis, Texas in Company C, 357th Infantry, 90th Division. KIA 12 Sept 1918 W.

Durill H. Rahe was the son of Mr & Mrs. Rahe of Crescent. Oklahoma. Durill was born in Logan County on 12 March 1896 and was educated in Logan County. He entered the service on 20 September 1917 and received his military training at Camp Travis, Texas in Company C, 357th Infantry, 90th Division. He embarked overseas on 19 June 1918 landing in England then to France with the same company. Durill wa

s killed in action on 12 September 1918 at St. Mihiel; he was 22 years old. Durill Raye and Rex Havenstrite were good friends and served in the same company; Rex was killed about 10 days later after Durill was killed. The Crescent American Legion Post 200 is named after Durill Rahe. He was the oldest brother of Clifford, Deral, Max and Erma Harmon and Orpha Favor.

American Legion Post 200 is again participating in the American Legion Department of Oklahoma raffle. This year (2020) the Grand Prize is a Polaris Ranger 500 w/trailer. and 2nd though 10th place prizes are being offered also.

Each ticket is $10 dollars and $5 dollars stays here in the local post. Each ticket gives you 10 chances to win as they are drawing once for each prize 1st though 10th. See the flyer for list of all the prizes being offered.

Tickets are available at Shady Oak Trading (downtown Crescent, OK) during their working hours, or from Randy McGuire.

He received the following awards for his service.

357th Regiment Honors: Campaign Participation Credit World War I: St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne; Lorraine 1918 World War II: Normandy (with arrowhead); Northern France; Rhineland; Ardennes-Alsace; Central Europe Decorations: French Croix de Guerre with Palm, World War II for MOSELLE-SARRE RIVERS

We here in Crescent try to honor and remember our fallen comrades in arms though flag ceremonies for service members who have passed on, installing memorial plaques at grave sites and providing events for the community. We additionally, send 2 young men to Boys State every year.
