Celebrating Student Voices in the Coastal Optimist Club Essay Contest!
Students from Wakulla High School recently participated in the annual essay contest sponsored by the Coastal Optimist Club. This yearβs theme, βHow My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me,β invited students to reflect on the impact of service and community in essays of 700β800 words, with cash prizes awarded to the top entries.
π Congratulations to our Wakulla High School winners:
π₯ 1st Place: Tristen Hubbell, WHS sophomore, received $100 for her insightful and well-written essay that strongly reflected the contest theme.
π₯ 2nd Place: Ashlyn Haynes, WHS sophomore, earned $75 for her thoughtful essay about how community is not only about involvement with others, but also about personal growth.
π₯ 3rd Place: Scarlette Brown, WHS junior, received $50 for her well-constructed essay highlighting her wide range of community involvement.
We are proud of these students for sharing their voices and demonstrating what it means to serve and strengthen their community. π
