📝Our MCLA Foundations of Leadership participants recently completed Session #2, focused on accountability, credibility, and leading through change.

From exploring CliftonStrengths insights and discussing the future of work in an AI-driven world, to learning how county government works, participants gained practical tools to build trust, adapt to change, and lead with confidence.

We’re pleased to announce Rachel Moore-Wells as the new Executive Director of the Montgomery County Leadership Academy (MCLA).

Rachel brings extensive experience in leadership development, program management, marketing, and community engagement. Her background aligns strongly with MCLA’s mission to strengthen leadership and civic involvement throughout Montgomery County.

“I look forward to working with current and emerging leaders, building relationships across Montgomery County, and helping support a strong, connected, and growing community,” Wells said.

🎉 Kicking Off Foundations of Leadership 🎉

On April 23rd, Montgomery County Leadership Academy launched its very first Foundations of Leadership class—and what a strong start it was!

Session 1: Team Building & StrengthsFinder
💡 Leadership begins with knowing yourself.

Participants began their journey by building trust within their cohort and discovering their individual strengths through the StrengthsFinder assessment. This powerful first step sets the tone for meaningful growth, stronger teams, and more effective leadership.

We’re excited to watch this group grow, connect, and lead with purpose throughout the program!

Wow… what a night! 🎶✨

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Montgomery County Leadership Academy’s Name That Tune event! The energy in the room was unreal! Every round brought the competition, the laughs, and just the right amount of chaos.

You all showed up ready to play, sing, and have FUN—and it made the night one to remember. From throwback hits to crowd favorites, you proved that Montgomery County knows how to bring the party!
