Happy International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia!

Today marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia — a global call to uphold dignity, equality, and human rights for all. 💛

First observed in 2004, this day honors the 1990 decision to remove homos*xuality from the list of mental disorders — and reminds us how far we’ve come, and how far we still have to go.

At its core, this day is about humanity. About recognizing that every person deserves to live freely, safely, and authentically.

Dr. Maya Angelou once said: “We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”

Let that truth guide us — toward compassion, understanding, and respect for one another. 💛

Today we are launching our Fuel the Rainbow donation campaign.

Crawfordsville Pride exists because people in this town choose to show up for one another. It’s the Pride Festival where we gather, the tables at local events where conversations start, the shared resources people rely on, and the moments that remind LGBTQIA2S+ folks they’re not alone here.

In rural communities, small organizations serving LGBTQIA2S+ people face real barriers when it comes to securing grants and sponsors. There isn’t outside funding waiting in the wings to support this work. What keeps us going is local support. It's neighbors helping neighbors, friends, family, allies, and chosen family giving what they can, when they can.

That’s why we’re asking for our community’s help now.

Small gifts aren’t “extra” here. They’re what cover events, supplies, space, and the behind‑the‑scenes costs that make all of this possible. This is absolutely horrifying…

BREAKING🚨🏳️‍🌈 Ohio just CRIMINALIZED wearing MAKEUP that doesn't match your "biological s*x." But it gets way worse.

One of America's most dangerous anti-LGBTQ bills just passed in Ohio, and it targets everyone's clothing, and much more.

The Ohio House has officially passed HB 249, deceptively titled the “Indecent Exposure Modernization Act”.

While politicians claim the bill targets drag queens, the actual text of the legislation represents a terrifying assault on the First Amendment rights of EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN.

The bill dramatically expands the definition of an "adult cabaret performance" to include ANYONE who exhibits a gender identity different from their "biological s*x" through the use of "clothing, makeup, prosthetic or imitation ge****ls or breasts, or other physical markers". Anyone deemed to be violating this standard in a public space could face penalties ranging from a first-degree misdemeanor to a fourth-degree felony.

The language is left intentionally, dangerously vague. The law does not define what constitutes "masculine" or "feminine" clothing. As the ACLU of Ohio and legal analysts have pointed out, the power to determine whether an individual is violating the law rests entirely upon the subjective interpretation of an observing police officer.

Under the text of this bill, a cisgender woman playing a guitar in a park could theoretically be arrested if a police officer arbitrarily decides her clothing is "too masculine". A transgender individual simply walking down the street wearing makeup could be charged with a felony for existing in public.

This legislation strips away the fundamental right to self-expression and hands the state the power to aggressively police gender norms. The conservative agenda is no longer hiding its true intentions; the goal is the complete criminalization of any identity that deviates from their rigid, mandated orthodoxy.

The attack on LGBTQ rights is an attack on the civil liberties of every single citizen.

Resistance must be mobilized IMMEDIATELY before the Ohio Senate finalizes this draconian measure.

Today we honor International Trans Day of Visibility!
Crawfordsville Pride stands with all members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community! This community does NOT exist without the T! As a matter of fact, the gay rights movement was basically founded by Black Trans Women who lead the charge for equality, and continue to fight today! Today is a day to honor all Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender Diverse People and all they have contributed to history. With that celebration comes the responsibility to fight the hate, violence, and discrimination that Trans people are subjected to at increasingly higher rates. The quote below is just the latest attack, being reported on by members of the resistance to our current administration, who continually finds new and alarming ways to use their power against marginalized communities. They wish to erase Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender Diverse people, but they don't understand that Trans People have ALWAYS existed and they WILL NOT BE ERASED!


According to Alt National Parks, the SCOTUS has removed protection for alarming and harmful conversion therapy bans... Now more than ever we must protect Trans Youth!

The Supreme Court just gutted conversion therapy bans across America 8 to 1. The court just gave the green light to a practice the United Nations calls torture.
Studies show kids who go through conversion therapy are more than twice as likely to attempt su***de. Every major medical association opposes it. Science is clear.
But the court’s conservative supermajority decided a therapist’s “free speech” matters more than a child’s life. This isn’t just about Colorado. More than 20 states had bans. Most of them are now in jeopardy.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson (the lone dissenter) warned this ruling will cause “grave harm to Americans’ health and wellbeing.” She read her dissent from the bench. That’s how serious this is.
Why did Kagan and Sotomayor join? Kagan wrote a concurrence signaling her reasoning the Colorado law was viewpoint-based it allowed therapists to affirm a kid’s LGBTQ identity but banned trying to change it. From a pure First Amendment standpoint, that asymmetry is constitutionally vulnerable even to liberal justices. Kagan essentially said if you’re going to regulate this, you have to regulate both sides neutrally, or it’s government picking winners in a speech debate. That’s actually a double-edged sword for the right. Kagan’s concurrence implies that laws banning gender-affirming care affirmation therapy could also be challenged on the same grounds. She was essentially warning be careful what you wish for.
Jackson’s lone dissent was a direct rejection of the whole framing she argued this is medical regulation, not speech regulation, and the majority’s logic threatens states’ ability to regulate healthcare at all.
