Crawfordsville Community Club On March 6th, 2013 a group of volunteers came together for the betterment of the community of Crawfordsville. We want to see people connect and come together.

We are proud of our little community and want to see it grow within itself.

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Today we want to Spotlight a new resident to our community and her sourdough business.

Welcome Kay's Bakes! Kay’s Bakes is a small sourdough bakery selling all things sourdough!

This October will be 1 year since Kay’s Bakes opened. Kayla has been baking and perfecting her sourdough for about 2-3 years before that.

It is just Kayla for the business. Occasionally she will recruit her boyfriend or family to help when she does big market weekends, but Kayla does all of the prepping, baking, packing and selling.

Kayla loves to bake and make people happy through her love of sourdough. "I feel like it has allowed me to connect with people I wouldn’t have connected with beforehand.". There is a menu, but she is always willing to try to bake new things!! She will also do porch pickup once it is not so hot out, so you can pickup at your convenience while Kayla is at work during the day!

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Today we'd like to Spotlight 330 Mercantile. 330 Mercantile provides custom clothing and goods using vinyl, direct-to-film printing, sublimation, laser engraving, and embroidery. Stephanie Miller has been in business for 5 years working out of her home and selling online. She just recently opened a storefront in Noble for 330 Mercantile so customers have an option to come in and purchase items after trying them on or seeing the materials! Stephanie does not have any employees as she does all the printing herself. Stephanie would like the community to know that she is committed to providing quality affordable products to the community and surrounding communities. As Henry County Fair comes to a close we'd like to say CONGRATULATIONS to one of our own who was inducted into the 4H Hall of Fame this week!

Hubert McElhinney has dedicated 70 years to 4H and helping 4Hers. He has shown willingness to support and teach 4H youth in livestock. He has impacted generations of 4Hers in multiple counties. Hubert is a former 4H member, he supported his sons in the program, then his grandchildren, and now great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, friends of friends... He was on the beef committee, was a 4H Leader, Fair Board member, and served on Louisa County Cattlemen.

Hubert is well known for fitting cattle. He is also well known in helping kids get bottle lamb or goat projects. Hubert teaches grooming, feeding, showmanship, breeding practices, and livestock care while encouraging responsibility, confidence, and sportsmanship.

In addition to mentoring youth Hubert has generously contributed to various 4H fundraisers. His lifelong dedication, generosity, and mentorship have made a long-lasting impact on countless 4H members and their families.

Thank you Hubert for making a difference. What a well earned honor! Good luck at the Iowa State Fair!

Good evening besties! After feeling sad, defeated, disrespected...I am ready to share the horrible news!
Yesterday after finishing up an event..we closed up the donut trailer...went and enjoyed activities our grandkids were involved in..having a blast! Not knowing during this time our trailer was broken into and we were being robbed 😢
We want to thank everyone in Crawfordsville for all the calls, text, messages and everyone out looking for an orange Coach wallet. They took money, credit cards, ss card, debit cards, driver's license...
Praying Monday they are caught after looking at camera footage.

Fire Chief Roy Felts for his dedication to the Department and 25 years of service.

A HUGE thank you to David and Tammy Erwin who will be retiring in September from the 1st Responders after 37 years of service.

An Honorary Scholarship to Audrey Smith for all the volunteer hours she has given our community.
