Every day, first responders walk into chaos so others can walk away safe.
They carry stress, trauma, and the weight of constant readiness, often without permission to stop. They are trained to respond, not to rest.

Cleft Of Hope is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) created specifically to change that.

We offer first responders a place for rest, reset, and renewal, so they can continue doing the work they were called to do. We are offering a place on a beautiful mountaintop in Crawford, Colorado, where first responders are fully supported and served for one to five days away.

If you are a first responder who needs rest, or if you know someone who does, we would love to connect.
We are passionate about serving those who serve us.

Thank you for reaching out and for allowing us the opportunity to help through Cleft of Hope. We are currently seeking any first responders, whether individually, as couples, or with their entire families. Our goal is to provide rest, restoration, and a chance to truly relax by welcoming them to our cabins, where they can disconnect, heal, and feel “normal” again.

We are also looking for sponsors and partners who would like to support this mission and help us continue serving those who serve others. To learn more or get involved, please visit our website at www.cleftofhope.org.

Thank you for your support. We are committed to supporting all first responders.

A first responder is a trained professional who is among the first to arrive and provide help at the scene of an emergency. Their main role is to protect life, property, and public safety during situations like accidents, medical crises, fires, or crimes.

First Responders come in many forms for example, some that aren’t mentioned.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Paramedics and EMTs who provide urgent medical care.
Firefighters
Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous materials, and sometimes medical emergencies.
Law enforcement officers
Police, sheriffs, and state troopers who secure scenes, protect people, and enforce laws.
Dispatchers (in many definitions)
911 or emergency call operators who coordinate and direct emergency response.
Emergency rooms
Flight life care

What they do
Assess emergencies quickly
Provide immediate medical aid or rescue
Control dangerous situations
Coordinate with hospitals and other agencies

Why they’re important

First responders bridge the critical time gap between when an emergency happens and when full medical or legal systems take over. Their actions often save lives and reduce harm.

Cleft of Hope supports our First Responders, giving them space and Renewal, on a Beautiful Mountain.

Hello, my name is Karri McLeod, and I serve as the Operations Manager for Cleft of Hope. Where I help steward the space and details that make rest and restoration possible for first responders.

Why: after a life-changing loss of my daughter in 2025 God opened the door for me to serve through Cleft Of Hope.

We are currently accepting applications for bookings from May through August. Our mission is to help first responders step away from the chaos, find rest, and experience renewal so they can continue serving their communities well.

We offer:
1-5 nights stay in 2 different cabin settings of your choice.
Strong communities are built on healthy people by offering rest and renewal.
Cleft of Hope helps those who protect us continue serving with clarity, strength, and compassion.

To apply, please visit our website and complete the application. If you have any questions, feel free to email me directly, and I will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you, we truly look forward to serving you.

First responders give so much to our communities, it’s time to rest, renew, and find hope.

If you are experiencing marital challenges, emotional fatigue, or simply need a safe place to breathe, bring your spouse and your family. This is not a retreat, it is a private, peaceful setting designed to help you rest so you can continue serving our communities in the best way you know how.

You are not alone. We want to support you.

Cleft of Hope welcomes all Peer Support Groups and all first responders and their families.

To participate, please visit our website and complete the application.
