The Crawford Historical Society is getting ready to open for the summer season! Therefore, our annual Membership Drive is underway! Look for posters, letters and social media on how you can contribute to our local historical museum! Changes we made to the membership drive to better assist us in our goal to increase membership! Please consider becoming a member!

We appreciate even a short time if that’s all you have!

Hi Museum Supporters...we are preparing to open the Museum for the 2026 Summer Season! It gets mighty dusty through the winter so if someone has a Norwex cloth and a couple of hours this week, we will be at the Museum from 1:30-4:00 Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (if needed)!

Also, we are looking for volunteers to welcome our guests one afternoon a week (Tuesday-Saturday) during the season (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Grab a couple of friends and share an afternoon commitment. We have some exciting things happening for Crawford's 140, America's 250 and the 4th of July! We would love to have you share our History with our guests! Training ?!? will be provided!

Thanks for our helpers today! We still have some work left to do so if you like to clean, we’ll be there from 1:30-4:00. Many hands make light work (or that’s what my Mom used to tell me) 🙄

We had helpers today at the Museum! We greatly appreciate all the window cleaning, cases and dusting these two did! Laurie and Roger thanks for your help! We will be cleaning tomorrow starting at 1:30 pm for anyone wanting to help out! Thank you!

To all our supporters and members: We are still in contract negotiations with the City. I felt the meeting was positive! Both sides need to do some research before we reconvene but we are moving toward a solution. Thank you for your support and patience!

The Historical Society obtained a grant for the materials for our repaired awning and the City authorized Kevin Hall to do the repair work. Kevin is hard at work and so far he’s had a couple volunteer helpers (Tony Storbeck and Jody Horkey) but soon he’s going to be installing bead board and steel. With our wind, that could be very tricky by himself. If any able bodied people would be willing to assist him, please stop by and check when / how he could use your assistance! Thanks so much!

We would like to thank everyone who came to the Sidney/Deadwood traveling tour! We enjoyed our day with you! Our guest speakers we so very helpful! We are excited to share our heritage with you!
